Default Issue with VPN Watcher and cookies

I use a free version of VPN Watcher on my mac to prevent IP leaking if VPN connection drops.

The thing I've noticed is when I open the browser through the app (in case with VPN Watcher you have to always open browser through it) it looks I have no cookies. I have to log onto my gmail again, my facebook, my ebay (usually those sites remember all my details and I don't need to log in every time).

My question is: does someone notice the same thing with VPN Watcher? Does it mean that the App running the browser in some kind of incognito mode or what?

Because if it makes your browser looks "clean" and makes you look like a new user for PP or EB - it's definitely not a good thing.

hope someone could comment on the subject.

I'm not sure was it the unclear explanation of the issue or there is really no one who have noticed such things.

Probably I'll address this question to developers of VPN Watcher or to the VPN provider, who recommended me this app.

from the official website. I'm not sure that it's allowed to provide a link here, so just google VPN Watcher or Ugdsoft (name of the company).

There is a free version (allows you to add only 1 application) and full version which costs 10 bucks or so.

by the way, I'm still looking for an answer regarding cookies and would appreciate if anyone who uses VPN Watcher share their experience (didn't get any info from developers).

I have always cleaned cookie each time I logout of my stealth ebay/paypal so whenever the browser is loaded at my next visit it always has no cookie whatsoever. I have been doing this for many many years and I don't see any issue at all with it. For me what matters is that I use same Dedicated IP from 24vc and more importantly I always load PayPal through ebay 99% of time.

Cookie on your system as far as I believe means ebay/paypal is still watching your digital footprint even while you are logout so I made my business ends with them each time I logout.

Not sure if my content made sense to you.

Thought I should get back with some updates in case someone here is experiencing the same problems and looking for a solution.

Turns out that VPN Watcher works best with Mozilla Firefox. Unlike other browsers I've tried (Chrome, Opera) - Mozilla keeps all your cookies and history.

So for those of you who is looking for a killswitch for Mac - try to use VPN Watcher + Firefox.

hope this helps.

I would think it'd be safer to set iptables in shell. I havent tried this on Mac, but I just ran a google search and see it can be done. I've set up iptabes on Chrome OS and Linux and the basic principles would be the same. It'd be a lot safer than downloading a program. I've been experimenting with cloned VM's downloading programs like this and about 75% of them have been contaminated in some kind of way.

Today I noticed one of the VPN provider here has a program for download to disable ipv6.

It makes me question WHY... Disabling ipv6 is as easy as start>control panel>network and internet>network and sharing center>change adapter settings>right click network adapter>properties>uncheck ipv6

It took me less than a min to type that, so why wouldn't they just do the same.

The guides I have seen have an additional step that have you going into the registry and changing some things.

The download to disable ipv6 isn't working for me, so I'll need to figure something out.
