192.168.1.*** is to log into the router's admin console if you want to manually change it...a real IP can be 4 sets of any #'s...also make sure you are closing your browser and restarting it when re-checking...

Your router number is usually 192.168.0.1 or something liek that. If you go to command prompt and type in ipconfig , thats what it would show you...

Now if you want to find your REAL ip address, go to IP Burger - What is my IP Address? Find Your IP Address! and it'll show you what eBay is using to track you.

Your router is probably hanging onto your IP address. Try eBayhateluv suggestion for changing your IP address. It's one of the reasons I bought a second modem from my ISP, I would get a new Ip every time I switched modems out. Cost more money, but a lot easier to switch IPs with a Router.

Aspkin, buying a new router or modem is not necessary, Please see the post I made about changing IP through your router setup to your DSL or Cable Modem.
It works like a charm.

Aye, well for me it was a pain the year ago I did this. So instead for a faster way of changing my IP I would use the second modem to get a new ip within seconds rather hours.

Anyway, good post though.
