Toilet paper isn't vital because as long as there is water, you can clean yourself with water. Baby formula is freaking disgusting and I doubt most people would be able to stomach it if they had to. But I'm having a hard time finding formula for my actual baby because a-holes keep buying all Walmart has to offer. |

One thing is for sure, it will destroy many folk financially and cost some of them their lives not just their livelihood.
I fear time will show that the price society will have paid for trying to fight this virus is far greater than if we'd done nothing more than treat it as any other strain of flu. | lol the patriot act says hello |

Toilet paper is a psychological thing. It's huge and it's cheap, and makes people feel like they have SOME control. And everyone else, just see others doing it, and they think they have to as well. Rinse and repeat.
You know what's realy gotta suck?
People that actually ARE out of toilet paper, because they usually buy it when they are running out, and now can't get any lol. |
| phaz0rz | 03-15-2020 10:33 AM | Re: Corona Virus I'm not on social media but my wife is, and she's saying that people are stockpiling baby formula because it has a longer shelf life than milk. Implying a ton of people without babies are buying it just to feel safe.. even though they will most likely never use it and would probably vomit if they tried to.
I saw a listing on eBay yesterday for toilet paper. I don't think eBay has banned the sale of TP yet, but based off of what I saw yesterday, they most likely will very soon. The guy had the basic 1-ply "1000 sheets per roll" Scott toilet paper listed. $8 per roll or best offer, with over 30 rolls sold so far. I can't fathom why anybody is willing to pay $8 for a roll of TP, unless the guy is just shill-buying his own stuff to make it look like he's getting sales. |

who said toilet paper is cheap,me think it is rather expensive,it is bulky, yeah it is cheap if you consider bulkiness =$$.
some use newspaper, twigs and leaves and branches | that is exactly how people are considering it. It's cheap for the bulk. And it makes people feel in control. For the price, it also goes along way. And there are also many very cheap brands of toilet paper. Again, this is psychological. You're trying to infer logic into this. It's not about what something IS, but what something LOOKS like it is. |

If people are dumb enough to pay $8 a roll, why aren't they allowed to? Who would banning it, protect exactly? Running out, isn't going to kill anyone. Only slightly inconvenience. Use a shower wand. Use a damn rag. use 3 seashells. I mean, come on. |

But they've already set a precedence so I'm just assuming they will follow suit by expanding their ban to other items that sellers are price gouging on. :juggle: |

Cheap ⊗⊗⊗⊗ masks. Diluted sanitizer. someone sick, might need it to help stop the spread. I can ALMOST understand that. Sanitizer and masks can actually prevent someone from dying. Toilet paper tho.... |

The demand for loo roll is so high because when one person sneezes another 100 $hit themselves. | Right before the post office, I was eating buttered toast on the way there ( it's minutes away.... don't ask. I was hungry) and I accidentally breathed in some crumbs. Was choking, but the place was closing in a few minutes. So I rush in, and am handing the guy my packages, just trying my hardest not to get into a violent coughing fit, so I can get the hell out of there ASAP |

Like I said above, stop allowing folk to panic you and stop stressing, it's not good for you. :rip: |
MORE effective, I'm pretty sure. They say to use hand sanitizer if you don't have access to soap. And 20 seconds of your time. |

So all the stuff under your nails, or under oils/dirts, will remain. |

2 brothers in Tennesee bought 180,000 bottles by cleaning out the dollar stores, wmt, walgreen, albertson, kroger etc and list them on internet, only to be banned for price gourging, now they are sitting on huge inventory they cant sell. | Ohhhh, you can bet your ass they'll sell every bit of that. Even if it's on the street corner. Might even get robbed for it! |

Publix, for example, is even closing hours early now, just so they have enough time to do all the restocking for the next day ( while keeping things clean). |
It's very location-dependent, as well. My local Publix looks like it went out of business, it's so bare. But while at a small-town beach last week, I had never seen such full shelves.
I literally took a picture of it because it seemed "artsy" to me. Nothing to do with panic situation. lol |
| ebabe | 03-15-2020 11:04 AM | Re: Corona Virus depends how much they bought them for, $1.00 each on average? lets say they could sell them for $7.00 each plus shipping. $7.00 - 10% ebay fee -3% PP fee. Less the $1.00. Thats about $5.00 profit. 17,000 bottles x 5 = $85,000 ....Not bad at all. Would $7.00 be seen as a exploitation price? |

| TP= Sheeple with mob mentality, and the fear of missing out. Combined. People are LITERALLY buying TP because other people are buying TP.
Formula... you seem to be alluding to the prepper type people, but I DO KNOW people that buy their monthly formula at once. And you can imagine how much that is. Can't speak on regular people using it though... just guessing it's for preppers... |

Where I'm from, back in the 80s we'd go to softball fields with our parents and watch them play. The toilets were built on a small bridge over the creek and went directly into it.
To THIS DAY, that county still has sewage drains running into the creek from houses.
