Lol. China's policy starting about a month ago was to get the rising numbers under control by just not testing anymore. Who knows how bad it really is there by now.

You don't think a country as big and powerful like the US is way short on testing for COVID-19? Trump is blaming Obama for this shortage of test-kits and he is absolutely right :welcome;

If the "test kits" are just Q-tips that are sent to a lab for comparison against known covid samples, then I don't understand how there could be any sort of shortage at all.

Maybe something more like the hospitals/labs capable of qualitative PCR have maxed out their resources and can only process 200 tests per day? Doesn't sound very likely considering how many hospitals there are. Maybe there aren't enough covid samples for every hospital/lab to get a specimen to compare against? Also doesn't sound very likely.

Any details on how there is even a shortage?

yes got your point I dont trust the china gov either
but things are getting much better here I can see that in my eyes thats the truth I can swear that personally.I also had a good doctor friend who been sent to WUHAN early FEB for medical help,she back home last week said not needed extra doctors anymore there they can handle with the own now.all these are truth my friend.

I appreciate your sincerity in this post.

I'm not trying to be mean.. it's just that the Chinese government has acted highly suspicious since the very beginning of this, and you seemed to be trying to defend them. Do you have a choice? Would your life get harder if you didn't defend China online? I'm genuinely curious.

I don't know man.. China is ruthless with their online censorship.

Hundreds of wechat accounts were banned, with the account owners sent threatening letters from CCP, when it first started breaking out in China and people were trying to talk about it (like we are doing here). Saying anything negative about Covid or CCP in China is known as "spreading false rumors" and is a punishable offense.

That's what got me wondering if turbo even has a choice.

I'm guessing no one in this thread watched the speech yesterday?

We will also be using mobile testing labs. You just drive up, roll down the window, they swab you, and you go away. Results within 24-36 hours.

Walmart and several other companies will be designating certain parking areas for this procedure. The stocks of these companies also went up 5-6% yesterday in the last 30 minutes. That was all I could think about when the speech was going on and the companies were discussing things.(THEIR stock just rose!) lol

Google will be making the website for the mobile testing flowchart. (which is what initally made me think about rising stocks).

Roche Molecular Solutions, who will be helping with mobile testing, has a manufacturing plant in NJ. They say they can have 400,000 kits out by the weekend.

Our current testing capacity is about 175,000 per week, but that is going to jump significantly pretty soon. Into the millions.

Gotcha. I haven't looked into any details of how the testing kits work, or how they're made, until this morning. :noidea:

Trump just announced in a Press conference that travel to UK/Ireland will be restricted. He says the official announcement will be Monday. He also says he plans to restrict domestic travel "from certain areas."

you should see this in hongkong protest case,if this is 20 years ago,I can ensure you those black masked protestors will be all dead under army tanks.no joking.but if they dare to kill any of them by army nowdays,they might lost their state power.
same with this virus outbreak.they did respected everyone's life as they always do nowdays.
any dissatisfied job did on not cover people's life, we can speak out and complain blame grumble on personal Social media like weibo or wechat.not a problem.that is allowed.just no Politics talk would be fine.Eg you can say gov did a bad job to rescure my sister and who should be in charge and reponse about her death and whom whom should be punished and dismissed,thats all fine,not a problem.

And yes. It almost HAS to happen. Especially certain parts of the Country. I'm betting New Rochelle will be one of those places, if it isn't already.

chinese gov would like to help trump on this very much but the people here wouldnt very happy to do so due th the tradewar he started in recent years.

lol this already being the most free time in over 100 years now.
30 years ago when I was a kid if you blame any police officer they could even bit you and lock you in jail whatever they want.
nowdays none seen.and I seen people bit police a lot even they are held at fault...they are much much sofer now.
