Yes, you come to develop a sense of which ones are going to be trouble. And put them on your blocked bidder list.

Yep. Dated 2/20/2008 You will Not Believe This One. This is a good thread (for me) because it has current methods to work ebay.

as soon as i see dumb questions from a possible buyer i block them. like just stated though you might not want to do that on a newer account.

1. You list that the item is new in the title, state in bold print in the front of the listing and maybe even a third time for good measure....they always ask..."Is it new"?

2. You list the item as being a specific color in several places and even have a picture of the color. "What color is it?". I even had one woman file a complaint on an item I listed as brown in three places after the fact because she said it wasn't black!! I asked, "How could you think it was black from the listing?". No response. But she did drop the complaint.

3. You have shipping clearly listed. "How much is shipping?".

4. You have an item listed for a penny with $3.99 shipping on auction. This item would never sell for a penny, it is just the start. Six days from auction end some clown inevitably asks, "Can I just pay the penny now and pick it up?" or "How can you charge $3.99 to ship an item that only costs a penny?". Uh, I can ship a free rock, but it would cost a bunch to ship.

Boggles the mind. Some have to be joking. But many are dead serious. And I have never ever had a person that asked these kinds of questions buy a darned thing.

the best is when they ask a dumb, or sarcastic question, and you give them a sarcastic answer back they get mad. i love giving it right back to them. i always block them after that just to make sure the dummies don't bid.

and it is so easy to screw a seller on EBAY now. You block him and give him a hard time, he comes back at you with an alias, files complaints, etc.

I am getting the impression you have to truly swallow your pride for everyone, even the nuts.

My favorite sarcastic question is the one you get asking how you could possibly charge x amount of shipping when they know it only costs y to ship.

Well, yeah, but what about the packaging, the fees, the labor, is that all free? They know that, but they love to call you on it. And it is usually a competitor mad that you showed up earlier in the listing, and he reports you, etc. etc.

On some of my higher priced items i specifically list " Buyers with 0 feedback please message me before bidding " to avoid the risk of "im new to ebay i didnt know etc "

You'd be amazed at the idiots i get bidding and then asking why i canceled their bid and blocked them from bidding. Its in BOLD and underlined too, some people are just plain idiots.

Here is my all time favorite Buyer.....
Item is DVD SOFTWARE my auctions states this at least 10 times
Buyer: Cd does not work
Me : ok it is a dvd not a cd, do you have a dvd player, the item is dvd software?
Buyer: no, but i can get one
Me : OK
LATER that night , Buyer: still does not work, nothing would play on the tv, it says error
Me : it is computer software it is for the computer, you need a dvd player on your computer.
Buyer: OK so how do I connect this dvd player to my computer?
I finely got them to understand. I think about it sometimes and laugh.

I had an individual which sent me an email " I have paid for an item ONE month ago and have yet to receive it SEND IT NOW". First of all WOW... There was nothing filed with PAY-PAL as a claim ? They have provided me with an item number but thats it !!...I know for sure all items that were paid for have been sent. The issue is I CANT even check if they SENT this payment b/c the E-BAY account is under suspension and the PAY-PAL account associated with that E-BAY account is No longer active !!

What do i do ???

We have all had some dumber then dirt buyers havent we?

One I remember is:

Sold the item under collectibles, it took them 14 days to pay me and on day 15 they asked me if I shipped the item. I said no you just paid me last night for it and it will probably go out tomorrow. They said you had 14 days to get it prepared to ship and you are waiting? why?
I said it took you 14 days to pay me and there are allot of buyers ahead of you that paid in the 5 days I asked to be paid in.
I shipped the next day and relisted another one I had. Didnt take long, here come a fired up email telling me I ripped them off and they want their item and it had better be taken off the listing for sale or they will contact my local authorities and file a theft charge.
You got my money I want my item!
I told them nicely that you item shipped, here is the tracking no.

They said anyone could put a tracking number in and I bet you shipped AN EMPTY BOX didnt you!

She got the item as I was following it and not one single email.

The second one sold buy it now and then I got an email from the 1st buyer telling me that I am a total rip off that I have more then one of these antique items and it is impossible for you to have more then one of these items.

Wanted so bad to say, Duh, how many do you want lady?

She said that she is reporting me to ebay for selling duplicate items over and over again.....

On day 89 I get a neggy from her
