Default Refund help with paypal: non-ebay transaction.

Hello members,

I've recently bought a pair of shoes at a website (not eBay or Amazon), and boots online with a Vanilla Prepaid Card. I've used Paypal as the payment method.

The problem is, I've called them, and they said the pair of shoes I've purchased is out of stock since months ago... And said they would refund me...

But, they didn't do it...They just updated their site and marked the item as sold out. That's it...

Is there anything I can do to get my money back? Like open a dispute or something? 2 days passed and they didn't refund me, but they update their site and didn't even leave me a note, so I guess they are trying to keep the money... Also, they don't reply to my messages.

What should I do? :(

Thanks in advance guys !

You should be able to open and "item not recieved" dispute in Paypal, I recommend you do so ASAP.

I had a similiar situation with a different site last year and I never got my money back, however Paypal wasn't involved.

Hey,

The money does not get refunded to your paypal account just because you used paypal....the money came from the vanilla visa...so its going back to the visa....

if you used that method then expect anywhere from 3-4 days to receive your refund...and the weekend is here.... so expect a 2-3 day delay....

but ofcourse you can open a dispute.....why dont you give the company a call?

I've called them. They said they would refund me soon. But the problem is, since they fixed the error on their site, why didn't they fund me back at the same time? So yeah, I guess I will open a dispute and say :

Item not received, I called them and they said the product is out of sale.

~Anything else I can say?

EDIT : What if they don't answer to the dispute? Do I get my money back?

For starters, you are assuming too much. Some companies do not do refunds 'instantly'.
Stock adjustments might get done online while another department does refunds.

Get back in touch with them: get the name of the staff member and confirm there is to be a refund. It may be going thro' now. If you did this last Thursday, it may be in their pipeline.
I understand it's annoying but there may be nothing more that bad accounting practices delaying your refund.
What's the actual time frame here in any case?

I agree that I am assuming :( But I am pretty worried. My mom would kill me if that money get lost.

But, do you think I should open a dispute? I am scared that they keep my money forever. Or should I wait until Monday night, before opening one?

By the way, thanks for the reply, really appreciated.

I would open up a dispute right now. Don't wait any longer.

I guess I will wait until tomorrow, since they might have day-off today. But if they don't refund me tomorrow, I guess I will open a dispute.

By the way, the only option is ''Item not received''. Can I use it for a refund, since he haven't ship it + it's out of stock?

Yes, include what they told you on the phone. also mention that you waited 3 days which is more than enough time for them to issue you a refund.
