Under Trump, that's exactly how it would work.

First 25k in income is untaxed (50k for married couples)

I now have got it down to around 50%

In the 70's we were just doing OK.... Just.

Then we got lumbered with a great bunch of wallies in the form of the EU.

The EU was smaller then... life had none of these days' horrors. Refugees were not the norm.

In theory the EU is a good idea

In reality it's a disaster. (A lot like communism!)

I do like the idea of being able to move to any EU country with ease, but that advantage is outweighed by the EU being able to just make up laws that apply to the UK without the UK having any say in it

What you are saying is that if I have two slices of my pizza on my plate, the government will come and make me give you one of my slices. Say I had six whole pizzas of my own, they would take three of mine and give them to other people. I'm still not going to eat three whole pizzas, but at least they're mine!

The way socialism works is that everyone pitches in to buy ingredients for the dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings. Then we make pizza, and have a pizza party where everyone gets pizza! Even if some people chip in a little more than others, there is enough pizza to feed everyone in the end. No one is hoarding ten pizzas that they're not going to eat while children suffer and people die! Hooray!

The problem with your naive views of socialism is that is simply isn't mathematically accurate. Bernie is lying when he tells you he will "only increase taxes on the rich". It's not possible, mathematically speaking.

Just Google "Bernie Sanders Tax increase everyone" and read what you find. It won't just be Bill Gates paying for your "free" stuff.

Anyways, this really isn't enjoyable or productive, so I'm going to end the debate here. Everyone is free to vote for whomever they choose. I just hope you'll do proper research instead of just listening to rally speeches or charts shared on Facebook.

I was never advocating for only the rich's taxes to increase. I would gladly pay more taxes to increase the health and education of everyone in the country, because that makes it a much better country for me and my children.
