Alcohol is worse than MJ from health standpoint but it's so socially accepted no one thinks twice about it. More heart related issues than cancer - you'd never know it thx to media. On another world it would be categorized as poisen but here it's marketed for social gatherings / let loose events. Wish I never read about it cause I still drink on occasion! MJ puts you right to bed, best rest ever and esp nice when stress is high. Sooner or later MJ will be mailable since alcohol is, dont see a reason it would not be once fed legal. Has to change on the fed level though.

Actually, that wasn't my intention. Sorry if you thought I was singing you out.

I was actually referring to the business end of things in general. There is obviously going to be people who are quick to judge you for promoting something they deem "bad" for society, that is going to be a challenge for some people.

This kinda reminds me of the time I was in the hosting business some years back. We had a division that focused on the "Adult" (porn) sites. My main job was to keep the server up, and network going. It was in a datacenter and I was also responsible for dealing with support and taking customer calls. I had a lot of whackjobs call me telling me how our company is "evil" or why am I working for a company that promotes filth, smut, etc?

I even had one crazy who claimed he was a Baptist pastor in some small town in Alabama, he would call in on our support line and read me passages from the bible, and tell me I was going to hell. I kid you not. He would even open support tickets with bible verses in them and harass my techs. This went on for nearly a year. It got so bad, I ended up having to report him to his local authorities for harassment before he stopped.

The way I see it, as long as you are conforming to the law it's your right to run your own business as you choose to. At least I feel it should be that way in the USA. Sadly, those "rights" are being slowly trampled upon by the day.

If alcohol were illegal and controlled by organized crime like it was during prohibition, you would hear about a lot more crime relating to alcoholism. There isn't much crime with fiending alcoholics because their drug of choice is cheap and readily accessible within 5 miles of almost anywhere. Crime revolving around drugs like meth, heroin, and (insert 'hard' drug here) would be slashed by 90% if they were as cheap and easy to get as alcohol, IMHO. Think about it. If a heroin addict could buy their drug of choice anywhere, legally, for fair market value compared to other pharmaceuticals, they wouldn't be stealing a $100 ring from their g-ma to buy a days worth of dope from the streets. Case in point - former heroin users now on Methadone. Methadone is an even more powerful opiate than heroin but users are able to stabilize their life, hold down jobs, build savings, etc, once they start going to the methadone clinic every morning at 5AM. Heroin is actually used in maintenance therapy in certain countries because it's a less hazardous drug than methadone which is a lot easier to get off of thanks to a much shorter half-life.

Another case in point would be the millions of young kids having amphetamines shoved down their throats by their parents. You don't hear about them committing crimes despite the fact that they're just as jacked up as the average meth user. They only start committing crimes once they hit 18 years old, their pediatrician cuts them off the Adderal, and they make the switch to meth which they have to score off of the streets.

I'd run into them late at night while working and they look wigged out while you're standing there, all jittery n $hit and they cant sleep for 24hrs or something like that. Really didnt care to talk to the guy any more. And he was a criminal justice major lol!

Having easy access would definitely change the 'value' and illure of whatever substance. Crime would definitely go down, but then you have a lot of new problems like easy OD.

I own a cbd business, i thought of going retail. i do ok on the website, but then elavon shut down a ton of cbd merchants for processing, and i haven't found a good payment processor since then that doesn't charge $80 in monthly fees. Just don't do the quantity to pay that. So now i just post on ebay and sell as much and quickly as possible before they take it down, takes 3 takedowns before you're suspended for 7 days.

Well put it this way.... I run a vape business and I’ve just opened 2 more retail shops. I’m doing pretty well... although I have manufactured my own label juice and it’s now in probably about 350 shops in the uk. Hopefully taking it worldwide soon.

However... anyone thinking of getting into it. Don’t!! It’s a nightmare getting through red tape and getting your liquids to market. One of my liquids has taken 7 months from testing stage because now we have to submit them to TPD then have them tested and it costs a tonne, and if your juice sales fail.... say goodbye to about £10,000 investment per 1 juice line.

It’s now tough to be a a small retail store. This is why I have now invested in a business elsewhere. As I am looking at eventually getting out...
