Re: Anyone selling on TikTok shop?

The best way to get them to want additional communication if they're ignoring you is to offer a partial refund. If they continue to ignore close to the deadline, ask for a full refund. If your profit margins are enough to compensate for the loss it's worth doing so. In other words, if the cost of refunding them does not outweigh the loss you get from sales getting hurt by their feedback it's somewhat an obvious decision.

I hate refunding customers for this but when I do I just remind myself its my business not me personally who is handling this. Hard to do, and I don't do it always but if I think the feedback will really damage my account and the marketplace doesn't have an easy policy for removal of feedback I will defiantly do it.

Me knowing TikTok is hard to get reviews removed, if I get a negative feedback in the future I will for sure being offering partial refunds or full refunds to get it removed. But thats just me.

I offered a full refund or replacement item and received no reply.

A month on and I still can't add any new products.

Oh, ouch. I am starting to build my new account now. They must have some sort of dedicated support for larger accounts because I know popular people on X that talk about moving from Amazon to TikTok with massive success.

Yes, many people are successfully selling on TikTok Shop, leveraging the platform's vast audience to reach potential customers. Creators and businesses utilize engaging videos to showcase products, making shopping interactive and fun. It's a great opportunity to tap into a new market and boost sales.

It won't let me list any new items. The current ones are still buyable.

Hi everyone. I'm not a regular here, but I'm hoping someone can help. I tried to open a tiktok shop account as a Canadian - but it's not offered here. I explored opening a seller account in USA using an LLC based in USA, but it still wants a person's name, address, ID etc that has to be inside USA. Is it not possible to operate as a foreigner with an American LLC? Did the requirements change, or am I missing something?

Foreigner operating in the USA needs a TIN from my understanding

Re: Anyone selling on TikTok shop?

I think you can hire someone in US as your agent for a fee

Rom Tittenhouse 09-09-2024 08:20 AM

Re: Anyone selling on TikTok shop?

Yes, I can get the TIN and an agent fairly easily through a service like legal zoom, but it still wants the personal information of "primary business person" including name, DOB, address (in USA), SIN or ITIN, and it makes it clear that this person is the one who is operating the business and asks for their % ownership of the company also. Maybe it will even ask for ID on the next step. Doesn't seem like I could use an agent's info there.

Re: Anyone selling on TikTok shop?

I was selling for exactly a year, doing 2-5k sales a month, but they just banned me last week and are keeping my funds. All because I sent the wrong item to a few different buyers. Appeals failed. I mean my account was long standing but I had a lot of violations and a handful of negative feedback, so i guess I kind of saw this coming. But for that to be the reason I get the boot is kinda crazy, was an honest mistake.

Re: Anyone selling on TikTok shop?

The problem with TikTok is, at least for me, I had numerous customers purchase $1,000+ orders then do this. And I know because of the large amount these people knew what they were doing. Their TikTok accounts weren't active, recently created.

-------
$1000 may not sound much to you but it can feed a whole family for a month in some parts of the world .
There are sites where they talk about where and how to scam and brag about it,there were USPS postal thefts ,they not only steal mail but also keys, those keys to the roadside mail boxes and sell them on the site.
They also look for envelopes which may have checks and wash them,it is not that difficult to do.

Re: Anyone selling on TikTok shop?

Got my first sale finally, $400+. Now I am using ONLY TikTok labels, and I'm paying insurance for any package exceeding $200.

Something I noticed that is vastly different from my old account is I don't have any "cancelled sales". By the time I got suspended I had 500+ sales that were abandoned at checkout but it showed as a "cancelled sale" in my account. I still do not have any of these type of cancelled sales on my account yet. It's been over 3 weeks now. I don't know if TikTok changed policy or if it has to do with using TikTok labels but I think there has to be some sort of correlation.

Long story short, 100% recommend EVERYONE to use TikTok Labels. Do not use your own, unless you are gambling.

Re: Anyone selling on TikTok shop?

Yeah so what happened with me is I made my sale and TikTok immediately flagged my listing for violation of trademark. The same item I sold. It was a branded item, but I listed it and there was no issues.

I used TikTok labels, gave USPS the package and after a few days of no updates tracking updated and within 24 hours TikTok refunded my customer claiming the package was lost.

So I contact the support asking for my money. They create a ticket, nobody answers me. I respond to the ticket, my response back is getting perma suspended. They claimed I was trying to divert traffic off TikTok because I ended all my listings of a particular brand because TikTok flagged it so I didn't want more violations. A customer asked me about it and I told them I ended the listings because of TikTok and to check my website. Yeah it was stupid but the idea I get automatically suspended for items not in my shop anymore because of TikTok improperly giving me violation points is laughable.

It is a joke. They were trying to get me suspended.

I'm not sure how new accounts can sell branded goods on TikTok without this happening at some point long term. And once they do this, they just hold the balance. So if you get serious with selling on TikTok I would consider a high balance extremely risky. They hold the funds and don't release it, and because it's not an American company threatening things like BBB complaints, and what not do very little.
