Default Easiest and most effective routers to change IP?

Thread title says it all. What routers do you use or recommend using for easiest way to change IP and most effective?

I heard of Linksys BEFSR41 but that's a pretty old router (2002) I'm not sure if it makes a difference though.

Thank You

Hands down if you can get a mobile broadband card is the best and easiest way to change your ip. I had a d-link router probably similar to yours and it worked pretty via the instruction by vic.

Yeah, I know. In NY there's no cricket yet in my area so only have Verizon but that's too expensive! Now, maybe verizon internet but that's DSL so I'm not sure how fast that would be compared to Optimum's cable which I currently have and I would hate to downgrade.

Try a netgear .. they're great routers.

Now I use a mobile broadband card and love it.

Yea I was using dial-up which works great but it's so slow. But now I got a verizon prepaid mobile card. Usually $130 but cheaper on ebay and even cheaper on craigslist. I bought one for like $40 and added service and use it strictly for my stealth accounts about 10+ and it works the best. I switch users accounts and new ip is simple. I was using my blackberry but that was even more of a hassle. It does costs a little bit but it's an cheap investment. Kind of like when PayPal holds your money I rather spend it to prevent it.

How much do you pay a month for verizon? And how is the speed compared to cable? Is it good enough or a little slow and frustrating?

They have different plans. I use it just for ebay and paypal and the speeds is great just for that compared to dial-up. To me it's kind of like separating everything else. You don't use your real address so you need to use a po box or private mail box. You don't use your real debit card so you use a prepaid or gift card that usually charges $5 activation fee for every card (add that up). You can't use your real phone number so you buy a cell phone or forwarding service. This just adds to the list and I use a laptop just for ebay paypal and now this verizon card for the same reason as well. Like I said before I would have paid any amount of money to get some of my paypal accounts unlimited ...... Now I will pay anything to make sure they don't get limited. Not saying that they won't but this method has worked thus far.

It's a no-brainer. No matter what, you can keep track of the ips yourself. On the connection manager everytime you click connect and disconnect you will get a new ip. So this is good when alot of ebay paypal accounts because you can double check the ip but when you log off and connect disconnect you will get a new ip everytime best method hands down. You can use contract with your real name or prepaid with stealth or real name you have that option.

I have been using the Linksys WRT54G Version 1 through 4 with the Tomato firmware and it works wonders!
