New user accounts on a PC previously blocked multiple times.

Every PC has it's own internal IP, does this mean that I need a fresh PC to use a new account from?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm changing the IP I use to connect to the internet for my stealth account obviously.. But does this mean I need to use a new PC for a stealth account as the internal IP is the same?

Its not your PC that give you your IP...its your (ISP) Internet service provider and router.

Who are you with? You need to ring them up and ask if you have a dynamic or Static IP.

You need a dynamic one - if its dynamic it will change each time you restart your router.

BT and Sky both offer a dynamic service - you could also look at using a dongle or dial-up.

Different windows user accounts are used to keep cookies seperate.

I'm on BT mate, I'm currently setting up a home server to access from work and it's based on internal IP from what I've read about apache http - Does this not mean that an internal IP for a specific PC is always the same or am I wrong? If so I don't understand how I'm going to connect to my homeserver, will it mean I have to monitor my IP each morning before I leave to work? Surely not?

in step 1 it states to go off a PC's internal IP? Hence me thinking that the internal one never changes...

I was assuming eBay would pick up an actual IP of a PC before it got to the router changing it, sorted..

I’d like to run through how to setup your home computer so you can access it from anywhere. One of the big problems for most is the fact that you have a dynamic IP address, which changes regularly and therefore you can’t really point a domain name to the IP address as it will later change and render it useless.

I think you're right. Every NIC card has a unique MAC address. Unnecessary to worry about MAC address if you're trying to avoid EB or PP tracking. I would use disposable NIC cards if you were doing something that would raise eyebrows with the S3cr3+ $3rv1ce.

eBay sees your EXTERNAL IP, aka the IP assigned by your ISP. It doesn't matter what IP your router assigns to your computer on your LAN network, or whatever you are trying to say.

And @ the guy above this post, MAC address can be changed, and eBay does not track MAC...yet. Buying a NIC everytime you get suspended is just as pointless as buying a new house everytime you need to sign up for a new account.

Correct here all the way. I have used the same damn desktop on MANY accounts, just reformatted all the time. No links ever made. You do not need to keep changing NIC cards or anything of the sort.

I know nothing about BT but do this:

1. First find out if your provider is dynamic IP - easy with a phone call.
2. Make new windows user account PER EB AY ACCOUNT.
3. Power down your MAIN modem to your internet and turn back on before going to enw accounts.

Other folx will correct me with details I amsure.

A lot of ISP/modem requires you to change the MAC address of the computer that's connected to the modem in order for the IP to change.

Many ISP Don't Offer Dynamic IP Adress so the other easy Of many ways you can do to change your IP if You Have Static is change your MAC address and is very simple,i will not explain the whole thing but i just give you an headsup,try this free program and change the last 2 digits of your MAC address for Every Account and you will see

Ok guys, thanks for clearing that up..

I only get 2 distinctly different IP addresses on this router.

EG: 85.xxx.xxx.xxx and 100.xxx.xxx.xxx

if the first 2 digits are the same but everything else different, is it still ok to switch user account and log in to another account?

I'm running 3 accounts but only dare access 2 of them..

If this is only a minimal change, for instance the first 2 digits of the IP remain the same, is it still safe to access another account with an IP so simmilar but within the same 10 mile radius (address on the account that is).

What if the address of the account is south UK, can I use that account with such a simmilar IP to the one in the north of the UK?

Or can I just use accounts in the same vacinity?

IP location is not too big a deal. If you are with BT your IP probably shows somewhere in the midlands no matter where you are (not always!!)

Get yourself a dynamic IP (if you are not already dynamic) even if you have to change your ISP and that will solve most of your worries concerning IP.
