IP Change sucsess! (NO Router Set-Up)
The computer (win7) is connected directly to modem. Tried every-which-way of release/renew, unplug, auto detect>bogus>auto detect, etc without success. (though I did not quite let it sit overnight or anything)
Then I read about going into the NIC (local area connection)Properties->Configure->Advanced and looking for network address (my card says "locally administered address"). Switch the radio button from "Not Present" to the Value box and hit the a key to fill in the 12 digits. When I click OK the card will reconnect an voila! New IP. If I go back and reselect "Not Present" within a reasonable amount of time it will revert back to the original IP. I have noticed only the last 2 sets of IP numbers will change...I assume this is usually the case with most IP changes like this as the ISP's routers are all nested under the first part of the IP. If so, does eBay make assumptions based on this close a similarity?
Hope this helps some!
