Default Tor Browser... Can i stay stealthy

Hi Guys i am in the process of getting a second seller account, However with all this hassle of creating different IP's for each account... i was wondering is it a viable option to use "Tor Browser" to stay anonymous or will this raise flags with ebay?

For people that dont know "Tor Browser" It is basically an anonymous Browser that keeps its users location unknown by sharing and bouncing different IP addresses all around the world.

What you guys recommend?

No, never ever use TOR.

Nope, no way, never.

By the way, using TOR will see your second seller account bounce into the land of suspension.

It would be a most unviable option.

Greenbean already answered you question about TOR. So take it to heart.

My question to you, is what different methods have you tried to access different IP's?

Like GB stated, eB/PP will see that you are using TOR.

For IP variation, use dongles, cellphone tethering, change of cable provider, etc.

It really sounds like your just being lazy. If creating different IP's is just too much work then perhaps you should look into a Dongle. There are a few hundred or thousand post on this subject.

Also there are many threads on why NOT to use Tor Browser as well, a good search would have or can help you figure out what is best for you.

Lastly, when you use Tor your putting your trust on someone elses IP address which you have ZERO control over and you have no idea if that IP has already been flagged with a banned Ebay/PP account(s).

Tor is great if you want to be anonymous, un-recorded, and you want every website you're accessing to know that's what you want.

Just like on any site, they can see the server/ISP with which you're accessing the internet, they can see the same when you're using the tor browser. It shows you're on a tor server. Someone who clears cookies on every login is one thing, someone who doesn't want to be traced at all and goes through the effort of using a super slow network with constantly changing ip's has a pretty good chance of being up to know good.

Think of it like if you accessed a British account from a Nigerian server.

It won't look that great. Know what I'm sayin'?

In my experiences with other forms of stealth (not limited to ebay, paypal, amazon), in terms of anonymity it's waay better to blend in as opposed to stand out.

You can be relatively nice and stealth and (to some degree) anonymous just with the regular stealth methods - tor is not viable for longterm...outside of eB and Az, sure has uses but not for these platforms

Tor is great as you can set the exit nodes to any country that has servers. You can fool some websites to thinking you are in a particular country, but not financial organisation. Once you connect to Tor do an IP trace, you will see "Tor Server"

You can programme TOR to be country specific.

TOR works differen from a proxy.

I meant that someone using tor might be anonymous, and it may also show in the country they want, but it stills hows tor server when you trace the IP. That in itself would be a huge redlflag to ebay, regardless of the country.

There was a guy prosecuted for selling drugs or weapons on Silk Road a while back, maybe indicates that Tor is not always as safe as you might think

We know what TOR does.

We know what TOR does not do.

OP asked that specific question of Can my accounts stay stealth/healthy with TOR.

The consensus is

TOR suxs for stealth purposes for ebay/paypal

Tor is still very safe if you want to be total anon, but you have to use in the right way

Exit nodes, can give you away, as well as a whole host of other things.

The guys that get convicted for selling on SIlk Road tend to be Tor newbies.

One guy ordered a few $1000's worth of drugs to his house, got picked up by sniffer dogs and he got caught.

The Silk Road Is Showing Cracks | Motherboard

Not that I am encouraging use of Silk Road, but in general on Tor, like stealth, if you follow the simple rules you will be fine, try to push them and you get caught.

Tor is totally useless for stealth though. DON'T USE IT.
