| | | digzober | 07-22-2008 12:29 PM | Salamat from USA,
Seems like they might have tracked you down somehow. Etrade is very anal about address verification and changes, trust me, I have an account with 2k in it, they will not let me touch it because me and my partner had two different addresses.
Now I recommend having someone in the USA get you a P.O Box somewhere, and connect a bank account to it. You can even do it yourself using WAMU. From their, re-attempt to register, and I believe you should be fine. Make sure you have some sort of an IP blocker, you will show up in Bahrain my friend.

| Schniggy2 | 07-30-2008 07:13 AM | Get on the phone to them !
I have had loads of problems with paypal and the only way I have been able to sort anything has been over the phone. KEEP ON telling them that there are no disputes etc, tell them you WILL NOT stop until you talk to a supervisor or your problem gets sorted. It has always worked for me most problems have been sorted out there and then on the phone :)
If the fact that you signed up with only an initial is a problem then when you call tell them your name is "P Smith" as an example, if they ask you "why only an initial ?" Tell them a load of rubbish, ie your mum and dad are dyslexic and didn't want to have problems spelling the name they really liked "Pedro" so they decided to just name you "P" :p
If our account means that much to you then you will deal with the phone call ;) If you can't deal with the phone call then I guess you should open a new account, it WILL be the quicker solution :p |
| mycrowman | 07-30-2008 10:16 PM | They want me to go through changing the name from B to the full name. She said she couldn't talk to me on the phone anymore because there is no way to confirm that I am a the B, in question. |
| jerkyboy1 | 07-30-2008 11:01 PM | you newbs needs to get your stuff lined up for you will not have these problems in the first place. |
| djmuggs | 08-01-2008 01:31 AM | Got a payment for 700$ and it got held by paypal? I dont understand, I used 2 accounts to get 1700$ from a buyer for a wow character i sold. he sent me 1000 on my 4 year old verified paypal account, then 700 on my newer verified account. the 1000 is fine, but the 700 just got held because they have to investigate it? what the heck... |
| GreenBean | 08-01-2008 01:42 AM | What do you not understand? That paypal is investigating a transaction or that paypal picked on you?
Have you not read anywhere here on the forum that paypal has been putting funds on hold for 21 days or making investigations on transactions. There is no rhyme or reason to the way paypal works.:p
Despite your hope that paypal may not look into your transactions because your account is verified, you may be subjected to their limitations. That is a fact of life with paypal. |
| Ballsack | 08-01-2008 03:05 AM | Is this in fact a 21 day hold? |
| djmuggs | 08-01-2008 09:21 AM | i dont know if it is, but they just held the other 2 payments of 500 now... just great... |
| philly387 | 08-01-2008 09:46 AM | The 21 day payment hold happens automatically when the buyer pays. The "Investigate Payment" thing they do is just to "Investigate". But if you call them and talk to them about it you can get it released. |
| djmuggs | 08-01-2008 09:51 AM | so after 21 days most likely the payments will be released back into my account ? |
| philly387 | 08-01-2008 10:08 AM | just call them and get it straightened out. The sooner they leave feedback, the sooner you will get your money. Or just call them and get the money sooner. Sometimes they hold money if the buyer has a problem with his account. |
| djmuggs | 08-01-2008 10:22 AM | but this account is under a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name, are they going to be asking me questions like SSN? |
| philly387 | 08-01-2008 01:30 PM | i dont think they have ever asked for my ss#...but i also havent talked to them in 3-4 months probably |
| djmuggs | 08-01-2008 02:47 PM | I am hoping they just say their investigating when really they will just hold the funds for 21 days until the buyer either says something bad about the exchange, and if he doesnt (which he wont) they will just release the funds to my account. |
| philly387 | 08-01-2008 02:59 PM | Is it a "Ship Now" hold or "PayPal Hold" or what does it say along with the transaction? |
| djmuggs | 08-01-2008 04:01 PM | One of the benefits of using PayPal is that we make every effort to alert
you to potentially problematic transactions. Our goal is to help you make
sound business decisions.
A review of recent transactions indicates that you may have received an
unauthorized payment. This means that the PayPal account holder may not
have authorized the payment you received.
We would like to learn more about this transaction. Please log in to your
PayPal account and provide some information.
We strongly advise that you not ship the item until our investigation is
complete. If you have already shipped the item, please log in and let us
know where you shipped it.
We have placed a temporary hold on the funds until the investigation is
complete. |
| philly387 | 08-01-2008 05:26 PM | If the PP account holder didn't authorize the payment, who else could have? I don't think someone is just going to randomly send you money. That is messed up. Did you contact PP at all? |
| djmuggs | 08-01-2008 05:59 PM | yeh awaiting a response...
it says in the email that PAYPAL did it, for security purposes...
they think maybe the sender didnt authorize the payments? |
| topazcorp | 08-01-2008 06:37 PM | maybe it was a hijacked account? |
| djmuggs | 08-01-2008 07:36 PM | idk hopfully not, because he did send it from 2 accounts.
Iam pretty sure its just a automatic security procedure. |
| Ballsack | 08-01-2008 07:44 PM | It's possible the buyer logged in with a completely different ip which caused the hold. Just refund, explain to the buyer and have them resend the money. |
| imthatguy | 08-01-2008 11:58 PM | Djmuggs? Did you actually think you were going to get that money? Have you not read this forum.. Any new accounts with paypal more then likely will get a hold placed on it |
| djmuggs | 08-02-2008 01:25 AM | well i had a feeling that the 700 sent to the new account would be held, but the 1000 that i received on my 4 year old fully verified 200+ trans paypal account got the funds held aswell. |
| hungrymarketer | 08-02-2008 04:46 AM | Question about Lifting limit 500 dollars for paypal Hi, I created like 5 accounts... and I used gift cards that I bought from stores.

| djmuggs | 08-02-2008 12:32 PM | well thanks for looking on the bright side. |
| jerkyboy1 | 08-02-2008 08:39 PM | sounds like pp gave you the big bang. why would you accept some of the money to a new account when your old account was fine? |

| TGMT² | 08-03-2008 10:40 PM | Do they actually send it or do they deposit it in your bank accout on file?
Or do you have a choice?
Is it automatic or do you have to request the money? |
| adl0816 | 08-04-2008 02:35 AM | Is my account really limited permanently? It doesn't even say anything in my account. I will call them tomorrow and find out. |
| djmuggs | 08-05-2008 02:53 PM | thanks to the wonderful policies of paypal, and the great work of those hackers out there my payments were reversed and now iam out of 1700$ YAY!!
apparently the guy i sold the game account to hacked someone's paypal account and sent their money to me. so when they saw this insane amount of money missing they disputed as unauthorized, and got the money taken from me like candy from a baby.
WOOT! THAnK YOU PAYPAL I LOVE YOU!!! |

| keshav123_ks | 08-09-2008 03:07 PM | Paypal account limited Hi i had a paypal account and i was using it for a while. Then after few days i found a supplier, who used to sell some softwares. So i thought of selling softwares on ebay. I spoke with him about this and he agreed to supply me the softwares. He only accepted western union and bank transfer, since he did not have paypal account. So i told him that i would give him my paypal account which was one month old to him, so that he can use it . I told him that i have another paypal account, i will send the money to you through that account, you can directly dropship the item to my buyer on ebay. He agreed yes.
So i gave him my paypal account and password. He was from another country. Then after a while he used that paypal account and he went and scammed people. he had even transferred some funds from this paypal acc to other paypal account (dont know whose paypal account).
Immediately there was a charge back from other guy who had paid the money to my supplier. So paypal limited the account as the balance went to negative.
When i contacted this guy(supplier) he told that the account which i gave to him was limited and he asked me to remove it. So i contacted paypal and they told that there was a negative balance of -1450 USD and they told there are many chargebacks to his account.
I got worried and then i told my supplier to fix it and pay the amount. He immediately left contacting me. Then i came to know this guy was scammer and i reported to paypal saying that there was unauthorized transaction in that account. So paypal told me that give us 10 days to investigate.
After 10 days i received an email from paypal saying that "We have completed our investigation of your case and as there is insufficient evidence in support of your claim, we have denied your Unauthorized Credit Card Use Claim."
So i called paypal again, they told me that all the transactions were authorized and there was no unauthorized transaction. I was shell shocked to hear this. I told them that other country person had stole my account and done an unauthorized transaction, but still they denied me. Then i asked the balance in the account, they told USD 0.
So when i heard that i was quite relaxed and they told that i have to restore my account by providing the details. I told i dont want that account, but they insisted that u have to use this account as there was some chargebacks still not completely refunded, but they are partially refunded, and they told me that if you open a new paypal account then we will link this account with that account.
So somebody suggest me a solution for this to avoid paypal forcing me to pay those money as i am not the owner of that account anymore. |
