1 - Why in the world would you EVER have a Paypal account with 15 THOUSAND as a balance?

2 - Credit Cards can do chargbacks up 6 months (or 180 days).

Haha...good question. I keep hearing all this and that about "take your funds out daily"...well...I was never given that GRAND oppportunity! Started selling on ebay (using older account i had), during the xmas holiday season. Sales were booming and I made that 15K in 5 days:D

Yes, I am aware that TECHNICALLY a bank can do a chargeback for 6 months, but most credit card companies just simply don't give there customers that long to file...90 days is the norm.

I now have my own merchant account and next xmas I'll be much better prepared thanks to all the information i've gained and all the helpful tips given here by many of you here.

Ok...well..here's my update. I contacted paypal 2 days ago via email @ executiveoffices@paypal.com with a request for early release. I told them I had no chargebacks or complaints within the last 30 days and that while my customers are happy with their orders I am near the brink of financial disaster! Well...to my suprise, the following day I received an email from them telling me that although my account will FOREVER remain limited, I may withdraw the balance of my funds (overrrrr 7K). So that's it...I got paypal to release over 15K in 90 days!:D

Hope this helps give those of you who also have sufferred at the hand of the 180 day HAMMER! Moral of the story....ask..and you shall receive

Default 180 day hold

Hi,

I'm just wondering, does paypal return the money after 180 days after your paypal account is limited?

So, it doesn't matter if the paypal account is limited or suspended. If there is money still inside the paypal account. Paypal will return the money after 180 days, even if the paypal account is not restored?

Or do I have to restore the paypal account to get my money back?

Any input will help.

Thanks,
Mikey03

Yes you will get your money, either by check to your registered address or it will be deposited to your bank account after the 180 days even if your account remains limited.

Default Proof of Ownership of Items bought years ago....

Hi everyone!
My account has been restricted... I have given them all the documentation to prove I am who I am... this is such a long ridiculous list and now they won't let my money go because I can't find a receipt for an Item I purchased like 5 years ago. I don't even keep records for that far back. Does anyone have a suggestion for me..

Thanks!

Welcome,dw87,
Bit strange of paypal . Maybe consider phoning them to explain about the receipt. Would think that other things have happened with your account. Good Luck

you need to keep them in case you get a chargeback which can occur in 6 months.

i've read a few threads on here saying that paypal has been giving them trouble after 180 days. namely this thread

http://www.aspkin.com/forums/paypal-...imitation.html

does anyone know if this is happening to U.S. accounts and what documentation they require?

^^^ At this point, very few troubles reported within the US. Some monies have been held forever by paypal. This has mainly been because the user
could not resolve certain sensitive requirements.

I threaten to sue, sent a legal letter to paypal president. i received a call from one of their senior executive assistants, and he negotiated to release 50% this month and 50% next month.

The amount was $2500 and happened about 2 years ago.

Now my account is limited for $3000 because they figure out I supplied a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ID, so they will not longer look at my case. i wonder if i can plead guilty this time.
