Default account limited problem. 4500 dollars held

I recently opened up an ebay account and started selling on ebay to make some extra money. My ex wife also had an ebay account but hers went delinquent. she owes money on paypal.
Because my account has the same address as hers when she lived here, my acount is now limited.
I cannot take money back out of my account to purchase new inventory.

What can i do? Can paypal just take my money like that and not give it back to me?

Is that the last I am going to see of my money?

Please help.

Welcome to the forum.

Has paypal asked you to supply anything to remove the limitation?

I'm trying to work out if you are limited because you had too much money coming into a new account or are you being penalized for the actions of your former wife.

Approach will be slightly different.

here is what they sent me

We need your help resolving an issue with your account. To give us time to
work together on this, we've temporarily limited what you can do with your
account until the issue is resolved.

We understand it may be frustrating not to have full access to your PayPal
account. We want to work with you to get your account back to normal as
quickly as possible.

What's the problem?

We need some more information about some of your recent sales.

Case ID Number: PP-

How you can help

It's usually pretty easy to take care of things like this. Most of the
time, we just need a little more information about your account or latest
transactions.

To help us with this and to find out what you can and can't do with your
account until the issue is resolved, log in to your account and go to the
Resolution Center.

Sincerely,
PayPal

also they asked me for
1) ss#
2) photo ID
3) proof off address
4) provide invoices
5) Supplier contact info
6) Confirm location
7) Provide business info
8) provide proof of delivery

any help would be appreciated. They are already holding my funds for 21 days . This dollar amount is not paypal fees. These are actually items I shipped out already

Welcome to the forums.

Looks like you have ALL the steps to follow to TRY and delimit your account. Did you use the same computer as your wife's previous delinquent account?

While nothing is 100%, knowing PP you might be wasting your time. They might already have you linked and could force you to deal with your wife's crapola.

First question - WHY do you think you were limited? Any sketch transactions? If not, can we safely assume that PP has already linked you? Analyze this q and we can go from there in the discussion.

If they force me to deal with my ex wife's account then, what happens if she doesnt pay? Can they legally hold my funds even though her account was the one that was screwed up?

The reason why i feel my account was linked is because I cant get my money out. There is a block on everything except incoming money. Anything outgoing is frozen. I spoke to them over the phone and they said to send this info to them but they didnt mention anything about the ex's account. But I am assuming they are just keeping it quiet.

When she was living with me we used the same computer. THen when she moved out there was no more contact with the computer from her. that was a few months ago. I dont have any sketchy transactions. I only sell toys. But this past weekend I did a withdrawal 5 times. It takes 4 days for me to get the funds in my account so the minute the funds were cleared past 21 days I just hit the withdrawal button.

also the one thing that I have hope on is where they stated in their email to me they needed more information on my recent sales. And the the tracking information they needed was from the last 5 sales that I had. But I am not sure exactly. Not sure if they are playing games.

Problem fixed. I faxed in all the required paperwork and within an hour my account is back up and running. wew! I thought my 4500 was gone!

I am going stealth this weekend. Too much of a scare the last 24hrs. Couldnt sleep the whole night.

today I took out 2100 and the rest will be taken out as soon as the products arrive at their destinations.

I also have an amazon account so that to will be ghost.

as soon as I figure out where to start.

Great news!

Now learn stealth and try to avoid being squeezed by paypal again.

All the info is here for both ebay & amazon.

I assume since you provided everything (long laundry list) this account has a lower chance of review for next few weeks. Keep it extra clean and good advice from other is go stealth. Know everything before you start. You dont want a mistake link cause you do not know all the methods.

Congrats!

after I did the $2100 withdrawal they locked my account again last night. OMG!

So i called them and asked them what happened. They requested more stuff from me. I sent them additional info and then they released my account again this morning.

I am going to try another withdrawal and see what happens.

I cant believe they are able to make their own rules on whether customers can get their money or not. I run a 100% legit business and all the info matches up with paypal 100%. It is not right for them to hold 4500 from clients who need this money to operate a functioning business. They have to understand that yes when a customer purchases from us we need to have the funds to buy the product to ship out, we need to pay for shipping cost to ship the product out and we need to pay for the fees associated with the sale like ebay/amazon/newegg etc. we so need the funds readily available so we can pay for overhead. This is a very bad experience and not customer friendly

I know you want your money out ASAP but you still have to go slow - this is the way PP operates...yes it sucks but have to learn to deal with it to be successful.

2100 withdraw at one time drew up the flags.

You needed to go slower with smaller amounts over a few days.

I dont know what you sell but I never let them keep this much money in any pp account, ever!

Something very similar happened to me, in the end the permanently banned my account holding 2k in it. They kept limiting and releasing, provided them with all the info limiting and releasing and then banned me completely.

LMAO

Happened to me also in 2009.

Niece and hubby stayed the night, we played games, had a BBQ etc.

I was on an account that day that just went down and was on the tower trying to read here how to get it back. Went to bed and never changed the IP etc.

They did not tell me they had their laptop and signed in using my IP to their eb and pp accounts.

I got a call from them saying hey, we used your connection and now we are limited, why?

I then showed them all about stealth etc, helped them get their account back and now they have their real accounts and several stealths up and running.

I normally do not tell anyone but in this case they were young, needed money from eb sales and we thought her a lot about buying and selling and felt obligated to help.

If they have a wireless device they can do it without your computer.

Unless you have a security code on it which I quickly did back then.
