Default Anyone been Limited For Not Providing EIN When They Had Over 200 Sales?

According to the my ebay page I have over 190 sales within the last year and a half and no where near the 20k limit, yet, I still got the dreaded EIN request. What has been everyone's experience with not providing it whether you went over the 200 sales limit or not?

Amazon is Even WORSE.

they are asking for EIN's now while your account is Going through its FIRST Review, when your TOTAL sales are VERY Likely to be LESS than $1000.

To make it WORSE, your account will STAY Suspended until you provide them with an EIN,,Even if you PASS the review.

Combination of this and the fact 'sellers' have not been proactive in helping dear sweet paypal fulfil its IRS obligations.

Too many sellers thought this would go away or nothing needed to happen.

Now we hear the consequences.

Such a pity for paypal , such a pity. It's such a wonderful company.

I have one of those on 1 of my paypal accounts and I still sell. I just keep the balance at near 0 when possible in case one day I cant withdraw anymore.

You will need top provide some kind of tax info when the day paypal does limit the account and can't accept any more money.

Have you exceeded both 200 payments AND 20k? I keep thinking that's the one loophole that will keep pp from limiting your acccount, at least for now.

I also got my request today for the EIN or SS#. I am no where near the 20k mark but, am right on the 200 auction count on Ebay. Has anyone gotten an immediate limitation when not inputting the info they request? I withdrew money to try to keep it under $100 in case I have to wait 180 days.

Can someone explain to me something here. You required EIN for 200 sales OR 20,000?

So I guess if I sell 200-300 everyday then i will get limitation the first day i sell 200 items ?
I am confused ...

Are you referring to future selling on ebay.com?

Should you sell 200 items your first day with ebay.com, you have a chance of
paypal reacting.

If you mean Canada, you have no problem as of today with tax requests.

I know you are new to the US side, my friend. Have a read of this thread

Get the ein and stay under mark and you should be ok.

I ended up going over on several and tax season is going to be a nightmare.... For my tax guy anyways

im at roughly 100 transactions and just at 20k...

im hoping they will only limit if you get both as thats their and "IRS" requirements. so i guess by the end of the year i should be at 130/25k if they dont limit me.

i am wayy over 200 sales and about 2.5k off the 20k limit. At the end of next week i am planning not to sell on ebay until the new year.

I've been asked for my ssn every time I log in and the only limit I have is I cannot close my account which doesn't affect me.

Last week my Paypal account went down because of this. I was approx 170/18,000. They asked for the ein for about a month and I just decided to see how far I could push it. $hitty thing is I had 1600 in there when they restricted it, but the good thing is I haven't shipped the goods yet so I'll just refund all the buyers and sell them on a diff account.

If you are not able to refund via oyur pp account, remember that you can call them to refund via an agent.
