But that is EXACTLY what they do when they close your account! And they have been doing it to all the dozens of others who have lost accounts as well, wake up and smell the coffee!!

I read these replies with delight,

I just can't see how anyone can be so sure it was not problems with my repackaged items.

To me the evidence points more in that direction than a routine ID limitation.

I shall not risk it again with the few accounts I have left anyway.

Again, it is NOT routine otherwise this generalised panic on the forum wouldn't be occuring.

why is it contraversial for OP to say that he thinks the goods caused the limitation in his particular case (not closure)...it is not unheard of

that might not be the case for some or most of the other limitations reported, but it 'might' be the case for him or it might not......as long as he does not say it is the reason for other people or everyone else...

It's easy, they want you gone, asking for ID check means they can't kick you out yet, so instead look for issues in your item as the reason so they can kick you out NOW and don't waste more of their time on you.

It's controversial because info has been given to him that strongly suggests otherwise.

Yet, he has come back and repeated the same toss again.

Considering the OP did not know limited and closed were the same, there's a whole heap of misinformation being given out in their posts.

I quite agree with everyone , my paypal account has just been limited 2 days ago , I was selling 8 items a month , nothing risky, and still , and the message I get from them is exactly the same as yours .
the reason is they need to confirm my id , but then on the next page it says I cannot appeal the decision .
anynone knows how to avoid that , or is it just you and your luck ?
also , I did start listing one week after creating my account .
is it better to wait one month before listing ?

Nobody knows for sure yet Foxtrade, but one thing is for sure i have not risked my new account over this Christmastime while there is so much uncertainty about, for me it is better to wait and in the meantime logon to here just about everyday to check on any new updates on what will be happening in the new year with stealth, but i am pretty sure that creating a new paypal, adding an ebay, and listing items straight away wont be a recommended way forward!

Made 1 sale. To make sure my seller days start rolling and left it to work with after a New Year

The way things are going with paypal at the moment you were probably lucky to get away with selling that 1 item, some have not even made it that far

I opened another 2 UK accounts last week to replace my lost ones and started selling on one straight away and the other after a few days with no problems so far.

Is it the closure of established accounts that have had their limits lifted with ID that is the main cause of peoples current concern?

Seems to me the biggest problem could be if PP start properly cracking down on edited ID's and using the UK Passport PVS system.

Problem is Steplav, which has been said here by many users, lots have had the same permanent limitation emails on accounts where ID hasn't been submitted.

Limited and asking for proper ID and bank statements i suppose and once you're limited your ID is less likely to pass is what I understand.

I would think stealth accounts are relatively easily flagged, with the credit card as Entropay or similar, possibly using a savings account sort code, a much higher income to expenditure and selling things like a business would. A guy who does it for a job should be able to spot them and then limit them pending confirmation of ID.

Makes sense from PP's point of view that they are getting better at spotting them.

Has anyone tried uploading your ID soon after opening the account so as to avoid the harsher ID checks?
(I was previously told its best to wait to hit your limits before sending ID)

Not checked as of today but....

It used to be in the T&S of paypal UK, that documents could be submitted if the seller had expectations of getting to the limits. My accounts were managed that way.

Oh yes, i wasn't saying you could not submit docs, but that it was considered better to submit them later.

So, best to submit docs before you are limited or chance getting limited and wait ?

Could someone just clarify this for me...how are PayPal limiting accounts which they havn't even seen ID for? Seems a bit harsh as the person could actually be a legit non-stealther with the aim of actually having a genuine eBay business. How could PayPal manage to find this out if all stealth methods are followed correctly e.g. new ip, new windows user etc?

Just baffles me, they don't even give you a chance anymore. Can't be docs anymore if people who havn't even submitted their ID yet are finding that even their accounts are being limited.

It seems we are still at the base of this huge mountain climb.

@usaa, PP is harsh - they have no reason to be friendly...think about it...they are hit by people trying to do fraud ALL the time.

Don't be baffled - read around the forums and you will see a lot of issues.
