Yes, that's called a poor business plan where the seller never bothered to take into account all the cost involved. Every item I've ever sold, or looked into I did the math, the cost of the item, shipping cost, tracking number, hell even the cost of my gas is taken into account.
Now if these sellers you speak of never bothered to do the math then that is what I call "Piss poor planning".
Expensive is a relative term, what someone considers expensive might not be to the next person. | Your first comment clearly made it sound like most of the people using and contributing to this forum sell items that have enough value for tracking to be provided on them, whereas the reality is that newcomers to the forum, in other words the very people that this forum is here to ask the questions for and provide the solutions to, do not, and could not even if they wanted to, sell only items that it is worth providing tracking on, they don't have high enough listing limits! |

But I know a lot of people do it for clothing and accessories, especially vintage. To ship to australia for example is 45 that would be of an item like a scarf. I no longer do it, but I know a lot of people that do. Its frustrating that you used to be able to do airmail to a lot of places but now its required to have tracking. |

People asking "How to avoid", "How to bypass", "Workarounds" to 21 day holds are obviously not ready to do business with Paypal. When I sell on a fresh account I know that the 21 day hold will be in place and I know exactly what to expect. Quote:

| It's one thing for people to come here and ask for help it's another to be able to provide everyone with what they want/need. Do you know how many people come to the forum asking, "How to withdraw funds without a bank account?".....more than you think. Unfortunately we don't have magic wands to help everyone with their wants. |
| pokerpro | 01-07-2015 02:45 PM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? I guess there are probably situations that people have where the hold is a biggie to them.....for me, since 21 day holds are not really 21 days.......except on International sales.....I can't find a way around that.........but anyway, they are just part of the game...I just grin and bear it, and it gives me something to look forward to! |
| GreenBean | 01-07-2015 03:26 PM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? Still comes done to the methof of account creation and operating the business plan.
Enlighten me what we say to these dozies
'I wanna dropship goods cuz I ain't not no money and I dont wanna have holds'
Read the threads, the issues are being repeated all the time.
The paypal account is not of a standard to fit paypal's needs.
Not rocket science. |

| danshan | 01-08-2015 11:39 AM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? I hate hold not because im a scammer or dropshipper because sorry a#$ paypal will limit my account 1 day after the item is delivered and hold my money on that item for eternity sometimes depending on the setup. I even had them limit accts with money and deactivate the bank on the account. |
| yankee | 01-08-2015 11:48 AM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? I have never personally have had an issue with paypal and I break just about every rule this forum suggests.
I am assuming it is just my items I sell. |
| danshan | 01-08-2015 11:48 AM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? It is just once again you are too good |
| danshan | 01-08-2015 11:49 AM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? Hey yankee how the heck you get on a limited banned forum if you never had a problem with paypal? |
| yankee | 01-08-2015 11:50 AM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? I had my decade old PERSONAL ebay account limited for being a "Controlled Status Seller" |
| danshan | 01-08-2015 11:51 AM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? I do not know what that is but it sounds like you had a problem |
| danshan | 01-08-2015 11:53 AM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? So you are saying you create new accts sell 15k a day on them and do lots of them and never had 1 limited |
| yankee | 01-08-2015 11:53 AM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? Basically I controlled to much of a market and, well, controlled the price, visibility, etc.... |
| danshan | 01-08-2015 11:53 AM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? Sounds like you should be the one writing the ebooks, i do not even think aspkin can make that claim |
| yankee | 01-08-2015 11:54 AM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? I have never had a problem personally. I have had two of my sellers have a big problem, but it was based on high velocity, low credit scores, rolling reserves and bad attitudes and then an attorney. Lost a good amount of money.
BUT it was not my accounts. |
| danshan | 01-08-2015 11:56 AM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? Well i once had more marbles than the neighbor kid! |

With that said, I have handled a good amount of money since November 30th doing this. By-the-way, I am not the only one on this forum doing the same thing. |
| danshan | 01-08-2015 11:58 AM | Re: Can someone explain to me the angst against 21 day holds? Come on am i really the only one reading this that does stealth, come on |

By the way, neither of us had a limited paypal account this fall and far exceeded 20K. It has been discussed by both of us on several threads all fall. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:55 PM. | |
