| It sounds like you will have to withdraw to your bank and pay either through your bank or pay ebay with a credit card on the ebay site instead of paypal. |

That's one of the differences then - if you pay from your bank paypal will be able to determine that the name of the account holder is different than that of the paypal account owner.
Then again its been like this since forever - since they can pretty much obtain that information anyway when they do the micro deposit verification. They've never done anything about it before so who knows if they will now. Guess time will tell.
Worse case scenario it will have to be prepaid credit cards for payment. A pain - but doable. |

Prepaid cards are not an option. My sales are spread across way too many accounts, with way too high of fees. I'd be walking into stores buying thousands of dollars of prepaid cards every month.
I was thinking of adding my checking account to eBay so they can automatically deduct from that. Do you know of any downside to doing this? |

| this is my issue as well, i like to run alot of accounts and alternate but...since this update i might cut down to like 5 big ones and keep some aged?

You do realize that ALL payment processors hold funds for 180 days if they want and that paypal is actually the most lenient of all payment processors?

Hi, I am new here so please excuse me if I say something stupid.
It seems this is happening a lot to newer accounts. 3 of my 5 accounts got hit with the update. What I learned was that VBA or no VBA, it does not matter, new stealth accounts now are almost going to get hit with this. On of my older stealth is working fine.
The is going to hit Non US sellers really hard and I guess stealth paypal will totally die for them. I myself being a Non US seller have no way to get a US bank account to get my funds withdrawn from Paypal, unless some service comes up which lets me withdraw to a card or something. This was implemented in India long time back, in Indian Paypal the funds get automatically withdrawn every day to your bank account, no bank account, no payapl. There's no personal account for selling, only Business. This was all done on Government's instructions and due to anti money laundering policies.
I guess the only way for Non US sellers to use US ebay and paypal is to ditch US paypal acc and move on to some other country ones which would still alow some way of withdrawal. I hope someone gets the fix for currently stuck money due to this and help us all out. |

| Exactly- plus, when they "see" your mismatched names, since rules may be different, they might also act on the mismatch and not let it work- instead of ignoring the mismatch as they do now.
I would not be surprised if there are a few things like that which they do already that they just don't act on, and after April 19 they will.
Regardless, I personally am not going to let any payment pull from my bank after that update until someone confirms on here that they did it without issue- I would not be shocked if they start taking action on a few things like that after that TOS update, some of which I am going to kick myself for not having seen coming. |

So do you think old accounts will ⊗⊗⊗⊗ id (id is valid, just belongs to someone else) will be more valuable after 19th? It's more than a VBA verified now, an ssn issue now?
Other solution is offshore with ein but not tax free? By the way, eins are also in the market. But it's not a KYC solution i think.

Well many here think that by verification Paypal are referring to confirmation of US paypal accounts by providing SSN. That is not possible to do.
If THAT is the way things will be done starting April 19th then many will have a problem using their paypal account's existing balance. It pretty much means that you can only pull the funds to your US based bank accounts and if you cannot get one (like most of the sellers located outside the US) then you will not be able to use a US based account.

They are purposely making this harder for us. I doubt you'll find any more VBA's for sale. Even if you did, they're usually from USA banks. |

if the stop us for paying ebay fees with balance... there's not too much difference of giving a partial return once its in balance if the buyer doesn't open a return...
I just have a hard time accepting the idea of thousands and thousands of accounts not being able to pay May 1st ebay fees. and no word from ebay. Anyone ever try draining your PP account once EB bans you if you owe eb fees? I did and PP locked the account and stopped the withdraw so eb would get their money. |

| Refunds on new PP will probably work how refunds on a merchant account currently work. You process payments all day, they "settle" at midnight, and you get one deposit the following day for all the payments you took in the day before. If you send any refunds during the day, they are deducted from your settlement balance. Quote:

| In actuality how many people are selling on eBay that don’t have banks attached to their PayPal? I wouldn’t think the number is gonna be significant enough to hurt them, plus they can more than likely deduct them from accounts that have no means of transfer. |

For test i open an USA account 2day and also a German account
In USA account ... it didnt ask for anything ... so far ... i already transfer some fund there and also test fund transfer ... all okee ... no VCC or Bank added
But the german account i open ... ask for bank account just after i open ..
Also when i try to transfer fund to that german account ...my old account say i cant send fund to that german account ... i have to go to that seller account and pay or contact them :(
So i think they are making hard for Non US ... not US :( |

The US update happens on April 19th which is why you aren't having any issues on the USA account yet. It will be harder after the update. |

how many non stealth sellers cant pay via a linked credit card or direct from a bank account in their account's name? I would think it's actually a very small %.
Non us residents operating US accounts will likely be out of business after the 19th unless they travel to US to open a bank account in person. |
