Default Paypal Direct Debit

Hello everyone. I hope someone can advise me. Paypal have taken a payment from my bank and left me in negative situation.
I cancelled a DD and forgot to inform paypal. Paypal have now made a payment and left me in the red.
I contacted the people who I had the DD with and they confirm that the DD has been cancelled and they have not received any money from me.
I have contacted paypal by phone but after going through a few automated question/answers I get told that my issue cannot be sorted over the phone and I must go to the paypal website.

When I go to the resolution centre, I get a message saying:

We’re sorry, you can’t file a case on this type of transaction. Please refer to our User Agreement for more details.

Can someone help me please?

Hi Granddad,
You might need to give more details to get any meaningful help.

Why did PayPal debit you?
Your bank account is a current account, correct?
Is it legit and not stealth?
Do you sell on or recently sold on eBay?
Was this 'DD' a Paypal subscription which you signed up to somewhere on the internet?
How much is involved? You can give an estimate.

Subscriptions are meant to be cancelled on the PayPal website, and not your bank.

Let us know.

Hello Pandora
I had a monthly trial with a company.
I decided that I did not want to continue so I cancelled the DD.
I thought that cancelling the DD with the company was all that I needed to do.
I now know that this is not the case, I should have cancelled the DD with Paypal too.

Paypal have contacted my bank for the next payment, but my bank have declined.

So why am I in the red?

I do not sell anything but just purchase stuff.

I really wish that there was someone I could talk to to sort this out.

Hey everyone. All sorted. Paypal paid the monthly DD. I cancelled the DD with the company, the company then refunded the amount but sent it to my bank. Hence my Paypal account was in the red.
I have paid Paypal the amount and I am just waiting for the balance to be restored.
