This works about 99% of the time.
That's pretty smart.

I have noticed after passing 4 21 day holds my paypal accounts are stronger i have 3 paypal all new and havent done the initial submit documents procedure which is usually required after you receive a large sum of money. Instead of a limitation i got the hold on all 3 accounts submitted the tracking numbers and received positive feedback for others so it was automatically removed. After speaking with someone from the limitation department i really think she put something on my account to prevent it from limitation because i passed the earlier holds which were very high priced. I have been receiving a consistent high daily amount and clearing my account every day to minimum $50 balance for about 2 weeks without limitation, i mean i do have the documents ready but im just so surprised they are letting me withdraw this much on an account thats about 1 month old.

Are you recommending to call the Limitation dept. after you have cleared around 4 holds?

Why did you call them?

I had a 21 day hold as well. It was my first and I was shocked when I saw it come up in my PP acc. On top of that, the buyer had an uncomfirmed addy in Australia. The sale was for a bit over $400.00. I took a leap of faith and sent the item and thank God, the buyer was happy with the item. I then received a Release of Funds email from PP.

even if you're a new user you should be getting that only about 20 to 30% of the time. At the rate you're receiving that message you must be selling really risky stuff or seen as very risky.

hmm the goods i sell are between £120-£200 and are seen as reliable so i guess that the reason. Ive read on paypal that after you recieve over 20 detailed sellers ratings you wont be held for funds anymore. But are all funds until then likely to be held or just from time to time

It also depends on if you're selling internationally or not. On my new accounts when selling internationally I got the holds about 20% of the time but on all domestic sales I haven't received any holds.

Modee: "If the account is created improperly, you get that sort of hold. None of my newer accounts have received any kind of hold like that."

What do you mean by "improperly"????

HI Guys:
Please tell us all:
Some of the reasons for getting the 21 day hold??
Ive never gotten it..
I understand its only enforced when your fb gets below 95%, or when you have alot of chargebacks/ high risk sales??
NO?

the 21 day hold can be put on any account. We can speculate on how they decide to place the hold on one account vs another but their are too many variables and so many seem to contradict each other in terms of peoples personal experiences and theories.

Some factors not including all which could result in a hold be putting in place by pp:

-high priced items or reception of high dollar payments
-international sells vs domestic
-(unknown) percentage of total amount of separate payments received or sells by unique buyers
-old account vs new vs verified sales that possibly factor in(unknown)
-Red flags or inconsistencies on the account
-high counterfeited items vs normal low risk items
-recent claims or history of selling or tendencies which could result in a high risk tag by PP

Feel free to add my head can't think straight right now when I'm tired

i have also been getting the 21 day hold, infact all my items i sell are 150-450/usd items.. but something i found out! if you print shipping label through paypal.. the hold authomaticly release your funds once the package has been delivered... i mean quicker the customer recive there package the quicker the funds are released... thats just my experience...

denim you are right. The funds are released between 1-3 days after the customer has received the package.
