If these are authentic, then I don't think they will try to sue. But if they are counterfeit, it is a possibility.
As an FYI, just because a seller on DHgate CLAIMS their items are authentic, does not mean that they really are. Some sellers will flat-out lie about their items. My alarm system is going off right now because your dealer is not authorized by Bose. How are they getting the headphones to refurbish in the first place? It seems to me that authorized Bose dealers would have their own way of handling those, in a manner approved by Bose.

well they are refurbished items in done in their own factory, they are not new, he gave me multiple serial numbers to check and they all panned out. im guessing they will be seen as unauthorized items by them as they seller does not have a license to sell them.

You won't get sued. You won't get in any trouble at all minus the fact that you might lose the money you spent on the headphones. you may get a threatening letter, but if you do, throw it away, they won't do anything.
Like Jeff said, just because the seller says something is legit, doesn't mean it is. Most stuff out of China isn't, but that's why we buy stuff so cheap from there and sell it for so much more on ebay or whatever.
If customs does seize your package, contact the seller. If the seller doesn't reship, or refund, call your CC company, you will get that money back. Just takes time.

Many folks can chime in but one good word of advice.
Original name brand items in China cost more than here. Period.
It is really sad as most things made there anyway, but this is reality.

And, YES, people are being sued more and more over selling counterfeits.
If you try to import such items, and they are seized by customs, the copyright owner is notified. This is evidence they can use to win in court.
Also, some brand owners have undercover buyers who will purchase their items from you on eBay or Amazon. If the items prove to be counterfeit, that also provides the evidence necessary for them to win in court.
Some others, who are misinformed, think this is no big deal. Some law firms representing brand owners send letters to everyone who has an auction removed from eBay. Those letters can usually be ignored, since they have no EVIDENCE to obtain a judgment with. So, some people think it is safe.
But the FACT is that if they have evidence to win in court, then you are MUCH MORE LIKELY to actually be sued. Do whatever you like at your own risk, but if anyone tells you it is not a big deal and it is easy and risk-free money, DON'T BELIEVE THEM! Trust, me they don't know what they are talking about.

jeff is right. It is very good business to sell the BP stuff two years ago, because it is new product and popular products.
But now it is very hard to sell the products, and the owner have made great effort to stop the people resell the counterfeits .Also this market is flood.
So it is really not a good idea to deal with BP products. If you are doing it,you had better stop and try some things else.

i got a letter in the mail saying my shipment had unauthorized headphones and i wasnt allowed to import them, it said package will be returned to sender within 30 days. 30 days has past and sender has still not received package, tracking number says stuck in us customs. what should i do to get package back to sender? would calling usps/us customs be a bad thing to do?

@joea, which shipping method was used in your "authentic" merchandise? As I stated on another thread, your address + maybe your name are now on their little black book. If you have another address id suggest you use it for your next merchandise.
Good Luck...

@unknown5454, are you saying that our US Customs would lie? how dare you Sir! lol. Those fudge packers are destroying them or keeping them to themselves, probably keeping them for themselves.

A year or two ago, people were caught for stealing seized packages and selling them online themselves. It was Chicago customs or something. I'm sure it's happened more often.
And I know it happens in other countries like crazy because so many other counties just don't give a sh*t if it means millions of dollars are to be made.
There was some documentary I watched online where they showed a holding facility for seized items. Claimed it was worth like $200 million in seized items I think? Knowing those officers don't get paid crap, there must be thousands of items that go "missing" or "unclaimed/destroyed"...

I'm not sure what the ratio is for confiscations to Customs letters is but I've had 5 shipments seized over 6 year lapse and never got a letter. I agree unknown, those guys at customs can't be making that much, maybe they hire the same guys that load luggage on airplanes.

I was making more than that before even selling on ebay, probably why they only sieze all the large packages and let all the small ones go through, they're probably keeping alot of it for themselves.
