| yaw1800 | 06-18-2009 07:02 AM | Yes you can definitely be limited and be asked for the same things you would be asked as if you were selling on ebay. Chances of limitations may not be that high depending on how you use that account |
| NO ID | 06-18-2009 07:22 AM | PayPal let me transfer thousands per week and sometimes per day, outside of ebay on my old Business account. Chances of a limitation is high. The reason I transferred the money fast was cause I needed it to pay for the goods - I was a new to the game back then so its wise to have your own money just in case you get hit with a limitation. |
| limitthis | 06-22-2009 07:27 PM | Someone please PM me with this method. I went stealth today out of need and any info for me would be a big help. I am not talking about 5,10,or20 stealth accts. I only need one or two. I am low volume maybe 10 to 20 items a week with none being priced higher than about $15 to $30 at the most. I would love to NOT get a 21 day hold or my money held up. I have come to the conclusion that it will probably happen but if you know of a trick to not get an initial hold, please, please PM me. |

| successsor | 08-10-2009 09:33 PM | last 2 week, 2 paypal account has been limited. They, hold my money, then they still want limit. dun know what the hell they are thinking about. Hmm... |
| Vicvelcro | 08-10-2009 09:46 PM | successsor,
I can't say for sure, but in your case, it may have nothing to do with your history. It could be politically related. If the U.S. security threat level goes up, PP being essentially a U.S. company, they start sqeezing holders of foreign accounts and U.S. accounts held by foreign people.
Even if there's no political friction between your nation and ours, there is a general assumption that maybe some no-good-nik is based in your nation with bad ideas brewing.
That's the simple version. It's really skull-achingly complicated. |
| JamesYaBaoy | 08-11-2009 12:41 AM | PayPal is a DEAD-END....
How much money do you think they have on hold through either "21 Day Holds" or Limited accounts at any giviven time?
Even with the low intrest rates the banks are at these days, even 1% intrest on all of that money is VERY substantial. Its BRILLIANT! |
| Vicvelcro | 08-11-2009 12:50 AM | At first glance that would normally appear to make sense.
But think one step deeper. They make 1% if they hold it for a year. They instantly make 2.9% every time it goes ANYWHERE.
Now if you were PP, do you want to sit on money listening to people constantly bitching, just to make 1%? When instead you can let it move around for almost 3x that amount every day over and over? You want 1% of my money once each year? Or 2.9% of my money each and every day? And then assume that if I'm working my stash nicely, tomorrows 2.9% is bigger than todays was? Then figure every time I move it, it's going to some other PP user who they can snag 2.9% off of. So far, every $100 I move, they made $5.80 right then right there. Tomorrow they make 5.80+ and the next day it is 5.80++ then 5.80+++ and so on. Instead of 1 dollar every 365 days.
Hm. In a year they make $1 or in a week they make $40.60+++++++ just on my $100 flowing. That's more than I get to keep! At the end of the year, by letting $100 of my money do its thang, they make $2111.20 - that's for each $100 that isn't stuck.
So, now tell me why PP is holding funds. And then you don't have to wonder why they are going broke with this 21 day hold puke-nonsense. If I was a shareholder, I'd burn the place down for the insurance money.
Maybe because there really *IS* a lot of risk from frauds and scams going down...
They would still be better off letting money MOVE. Somebody over there is high. |

| x2ruff4u | 08-18-2009 10:11 AM | Them mother ****ers raised the fee's without notice. Read up on it. |
| Ebayorbust | 08-18-2009 11:03 AM | In my experience of this, with multiple items on a Buy it now - Paypal only hold payments until positive feedback is left. Once someone has left a positive feedback on the listing then no further holds are made.
If you are desperate not to have holds then use a stealth buying account (easy to set up dozens of these) to quickly buy one of the items, leave feedback and hey presto - no further holds on "actual" purchases.
Please note this is not a method I either use or have tried. It is based only my experience of 21 day holds and will only work on multiple item buy it now listings. |
Not true. I have positive feedbacks, 100% and still get 21 day holds... Not always, but I still do. It must depend on items and $ amounts.. |
| stevaxx | 08-29-2009 08:05 AM | Sent you a PM. Thank you in anticipation. |

Would like to know too. thanks |
| medway30 | 09-29-2009 08:30 AM | So is there going to be any advice on to set up paypal accounts and ebay to get around their new rules???? |
| Vicvelcro | 10-07-2009 06:18 AM | I hope not. Anyone who knows or learns anything useful should not post anything openly. Doing so will only kill it for everyone, with a quickness. |
| aking | 10-07-2009 10:27 AM | Haha, you beat me to it. Please do not post this "new trick" if there is one. That's exactly how the last trick got killed. |
| aking | 10-07-2009 10:34 AM | The holds don't really bother me as much, as long as you have 3 or 4 selling accounts in rotation at all times. My "money maker" items sell for around $100-$150 a pop and around $200 around Christmas time. On new accounts, once I get to around 25 DSR all holds stop altogether and I start with the money makers, but I still sell my cheapys here and there to build feedback and stay under the radar. I can usually get to 25-35 DSR in a week with my "feedback builder" items.
The key with ebay and paypal is your system. You have to have a system that is proven to work for you! Document it and do it the same way everytime on every account. Once you get it down, you shouldn't have an issue.
I play by paypal's rules and make them work for me. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 05:22 PM. | |
