@vigilante, the bottom line is how a seller approaches operating an account. imo, it has to be a whole variety of items sold to get a solid base for the account. And most importantly, there's is no rush. Much rather have an account improving slowly than being suspended
I'll say it again, if a person pays attention to what aspkin's forum has made available, there is every chance of having 'sound' accounts.

Totally agree with Green.
New account = Get a load of various stuff and list it slowly to start with.
Ie: I will probably list 10-15 items for 3 day auctions and then wait a bit for feedback to start rolling in.
Then once the feedback starts to trickle in I will do the same again. Only once the feedback numbers start to get a bit more respectable do I start moving to better products and in slightly larger quantities.
Forget rubbish like ebooks, not worth the hassle

Unless you know what your doing and how to do it the right way then you can get over 20 DSR's in 1 day like me with nothing but ebooks and have every account still standing to this day like mine.

E-books aren't allowed on Australian ebay. I bought a few from US ebay and had to re-sell on US ebay, I did have on Australian buyer though. Sent him the e-book twice, as he complained that he never received it the first time, and he still didn't leave feedback.
But yes, that did draw ebay's attention to me, and I didn't do it again.

But if you only sell 1 per account they won't be much of a problem, I still have 1 ebook on every one of my accounts.

Sorry, but I'm not gonna stop selling eBooks... The data is not here to support these theories of eBooks getting your account flagged. Most people don't know how to properly sell them, so they get pinched and get left with a bad taste in their mouth. I have NEVER once had a problem selling ebooks, and as stated before, it's the fastest way to get 20 DSR's.... After that, you can let the account rest for a few days, then start moving your product. If I get flagged on my next account then I may take this into consideration, but ONE flag isn't gonna run me off.

What about buying feedback while waiting to build up? Neo on your post you sell 10-15 on the first day? Thats okay still? I have about 200 products I sell

Usually if I set up and ebay account and verify it as a seller account I then leave the account for 6 months.
I would never set up an ebay account and then start selling the same day.

I doubt this has anything to do with eBooks. I made an account on eBay last night and I checked this morning and it wanted ID and Utility Bill. I was selling apple electronics:P

I tried this with a "dormant" 1 year old account. Listed 1 item, totally non-VERO (a garden item) and got that MC010 ID verification message 7 minutes later. Tried it with 3 more accounts, the same issue. All these accounts are 6+ months, most 1+ year, with all of them PayPal attached and verified, seller account since they were opened.

Same here, just started recently for me, I got past one of the phone calls but failed the next one. I heard you can get past the questions if you answer "none of the above" since its a ficticious person. We need some account sellers with ID verified accounts, you should be able to get past alot of the phone calls, I just hate calling em though.

i think times are really coming to end,i mean you can always get by but they are making harder and harder,so people will give up,i have one more run in me than i will say goodbye to ebay,i think in less than a year..its going to be wayyyyy worse

You must be talking about a different type of violation, this is the one where they tell you to call ebay in the next 48 hrs so they can ask you some questions. I know there's other times where they just ask you to send documents without calling, that's not the same as MC010.

Why don't you try making one and let us know what happens, I'm gonna get a new O/S and browser see if that works since I have about 25 suspended accounts on this computer so that might have something to do with it, we'll see.
