We have tried with router and bypassing router. We have done whatever the instructions say, in terms of turning of, resetting or whatever we are instructed to do!
So far nothing works! tmon

I have Apple Airport Extreme so I cant change ip address either. I even tried connecting straight to modem and ip /release and ip /renew didnt work. Maybe the reason was because of my vonage. I guess I'll have to get new router.

It would seem you guys are on a static provider. Or at least one that renews rarely. It would be a lot less hassle to change providers. Unless you have some sort of contact just switch. Doing this thing with a static IP is just not workable

Ours is dynamic, and yes we have a contract, so it still looks like dial up!

I was having a hard time as well, and i was looking around on how to speed my internet connection VIA Internet Protocol Version Inputing a DNS Server. I just did this 10minutes and it changed my Ip Address. Btw im using Vista.

I see you have a mac and changing your ip on a mac is a different ball game but you can do it. How to Change Mac IP Address | eHow.com

Or watch a video-
it also depends on your osx version.

If you just get another router: dlink, and netgear work well with a mac.
