as it well has been seen, making too much money too soon or going from $10 sales to $1000 sales has caused limitations.

my questions is if you open up a pp acc and spend 5k off the bat, will they limit you if you arent making any money?

1. Does that ALSO apply to ebay accounts that were created prior to 11/07 where one intends using PayPal?

2. Does that ALSO apply to ebay accounts that were created prior to 11/07 where one will be selling "cash on collection" (ie not offering payPal) ?

Ebay is losing market share in the US to Amazon. The funny thing is their revenue and profits are up, even though they are losing buyers. Why, some might ask. Well, by forcing sellers into using Paypal, they are making up lost profit from declining Ebay fees by increasing revenues from Paypal.

We all hate them, but they know how to force a profit....

I have a question. When lifting the $500 min. from your account can you use the debit card from the new bank account tha you created? The bank account though is in my name as well as the card and the paypal account is under my friends name. I know the name part isn't shown but is that also the case with the debit card?

You can't use that card because in order to verify a credit card the name/address has to match the paypal name/address. Just get a simon gift account or something similar.

Philly one more question for you, can i buy these cards online and get the card number instantly or do i have wait for them to email me the card?

You have to wait for the email. But for me it has only been a couple hours until the send it. But I have heard a day from others. I have never had to wait very long though.

Lifting 500 limit
 

Philly, I thought PP looks at address and checks the card numbers only..at least that is what I learned here, info others posted. Everybody says PayPal does not verify the name on the CC but address needs to match.
I have too problems lifting my 500 limit as I gave them the new debit card number that has same address and is even from the same bank as the original one, but the name on the card is different. I don't know what else to try, as giving them #SS is not an option for me.

I thought I read in the stealth book to send the gift account to the information on your paypal account so everything matches up perfectly, name and address. I just go the safe route and do that and it works every time with paypal and ebay.

ebay cancel my account last week I was selling fine and authetic items
all of the sudden they cancel my auctions and suspend my account now I have to paid them $250 in fees and now all the buyers want $$ back they open disputes on paypal I'd start shipping items but now my paypal account is minus $450.00.This is hell for me since I get deploeyed 2 months ago I;m so frustated.

Yeah paypal & ebay only check acct numbers against the zip code on debit/credit cards as far as I remember. I've been using giftcards for a long time now. As a rule I will not ship any items until the money is in my bank accounts. I'll print the shipping labels the day the payment comes in but its not going in the mail until I've got the money cleared in the bank. Don't trust the cleared note in paypal either. I use to watch that and then ship until I had a few hundred reversed. Always wait till it clears your bank. Its not your money until this happens remember that and you'll be better off.

Also if you have an issue like Iwannasell4ever as long as your SS# is not on that account I wouldn't worry about the negative balance. Your account is now useless anyways as it can never be used with another eBay account and Paypal processed the payments so that legally makes it Paypals problem.

How do we find out whether or not our paypal account has been suspended to some limit? My ebay account was suspended and the paypal account that was linked to the suspended account still works I think (doesn't give me any notice of suspension or anything when I log in and no emails of suspension).

You will know when you login to your account if it is limited.

I've read every single post in this thread. Thanks for everyone's info. So far I've been doing good as a "new" ebay/pp user after being suspended/banned around August. I've made 25 or 50$ per item throughout sept-oct for selling small things like textbooks etc. Recently I made a sale of about 200$ and am expecting someone to pay another 260$ for another sale. Since lately i've been waiting my account to verify, the only way to get my money out of paypal was to send it to my friend's account and then he just gave me the cash the next day. Now i'm verified and can transfer money myself but what i want to know is...

1) If i ever get limited, will I still be able to send the money to a friend's pp account?
2) If so, is there chance of him being limited too by having too much money going in and out of his account even though its not from ebay purchases but transfers as "goods/services" from other PP users (me)?

1. When your limited you CAN NOT send nor request money. Only recieve them, and you can't auction items on ebay while your account is limited on PP.

2. Dont know. But im sure PP watches any money transactions that coming in/out from your account.

I was wandering if im selling 3 items a week... would that trigger anything? I'll probabley be making $300-$600 (total) after selling the three items.

And soon as the customer pays, i'm going to input the tracking # (even if its not processed it) and then ship out the item the very next day (priority mail 2-3 days arrivial). Then go back to selling another three items two days later. Or once customers are close to receiving the product.

Would that work? Cause PP limited my account 3-4 times and they always ask me for a tracking number. I'm going to try to beat them to the punch this time.

Paypal may see this as money laundering. Above a certain amount (not sure) and if no purchase, they will limit both accounts.

Hi Everyone how has eveyone been doing ive bought like almost 2 month ago the ebay stealth and i got back online and today i just logged on my ebay and it said i had log into paypal? so i did and my account is limited and it wants SS# and tracking info what im worried about is that ive used all ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info name and address what should i do now?? Im not worried about the ebay account but i want my money also i got a handfull of items on ebay to ship? should i put them on hold or what please im lost ive got $1000 dollars held up any ideas would be greatly appreciated PS Should i put my bro info with SS# to save my account? will that work also ive read all through this thread ive heard them mention about holding ya money for 180 days if i don't provide SS# :(

cause i got a $500 dollar limit i can transfer to my Bank account per month i haven't removed that yet but ive transfered like $300 on time and a $200 transfer and i just sent like $300 dollars but i think they cancelled that and put it back in my paypal account any help please :( PS i do have a active paypal account that i used with a previous ebay account that i lost awhile back and it is verified and is still up but i don't use it now any advice would be greatly appreciated

You began using a Paypal account BEFORE it was verified.

My account has limited and need to confirm location by phone but i do that action failed now PayPal need confirm by Mail :( . Please help me !!! How to reconfirm by phone ? Because my address in PayPal is not real so i can't confirm by Mail.

Been through the same situation. I called Paypal asking if there was anyway they could recall since I told them I pressed the wrong button when they called. The person said no they only call once and they need to confirm by mail. My address is not real either so I moved on with that account. I didn't use this paypal account for ebay. Didn't even use this paypal often just a couple transactions once a while but every time I use this account I had to change my password and security questions until paypal said we suspect your account is used by a third-party so we need to take extra security measures. No disputes and the transactions are not high-dollar amount.

After that one chance they give you, thats it. You have to be able to get that letter, otherwise goodbye to that account.

You can maybe try telling them you are currently fighting with your gf / bf and they wont give you your mail or some other absurd story.. some are gullible enough to believe......

PP limited account ? --Refund all money to buyers!!
 

If you've got your Paypal acct limited, with $1000+ stuck in it,
I would recommend REFUNDING, that's right, refunding enough money to your last customers, until the account balance is down to zero.

A limited acct can stil refund to buyers.

THEN you email those buyers, telling them there were unspecified problems with paypal, and you refunded them to protect their assets (customer first!!)
and give them the checkout info for Google checkout.
This way, you extract your money from a limited account.

You do the above if you know you will not be able to satisfy all the inane things Paypal is asking for (like my SSN -- NEVER).
Then you abandon the acct and leave them holding an empty bag for ransom.


I once last year had $1400+ locked in a limited PP acct. They wanted impossible things, like supplier info (i craft my own stuff), SSN, credit check (not on your life), trackng numbers (I ship internatonally mostly untracked).

So it was obvious from their ransom note that this hostage was going to die with the kidnappers. No way I was giving that info. I almost accepted the loss of the $1400 and was now mainly concerned about CLOSING the account.
You can't CLOSE it. and I wanted the thing closed ASAP.

Then it occured to me:

I would rather see these funds in the following places, rather than in Paypal's hands:

-buried with the Titanic
-in the hands of serial killer
-burned in a bonfire
-sent to the Moon, or to Mars
-tossed freely on the streets

So certainly, seeing those funds in the hands of my customers was not at all tthat bad.
Especially, since you can get those customers to re-send you those payments by different venues.
(even if some of them won't re-send -- better than money left with PayPal!)

So now, for every refund, Paypal was adding back a few dollars from thier own coffers, to refund the client --Cool!

Not only do I get the $1400 out, I also take back Paypal's fees -- feels really good.

Regarding the above, just one thing:
PP and eB investigative expertise and resources rival CIA's

If you abandon an account without showing any concern for providing the info they request, it makes it seem like you are intent on opening / using another Paypal account somewhere else, under a different name, to continue doing what you've been doing.

If I was sitting at the PayPal controls, I would then try to corroborate ANY info I already have about you (from your current and past accounts) with info provided in new accounts opened in the next 30 days. Nobody can just walk away from a PP account like that. You'll just HAVE to pop up again somewhere!

I know you will have to use SOME info again... It's really tough to come up with all NEW info each time you open a PP acct.

name, zip code, tel nr, credit card nr, bank acct nr, email domain, IP, IP locale, cookies, Flash objects, hard disk serial Nr, ther are SOO many paremeters I collect about you, SOMETHING might show up again...

Walk very carefully, wherever you're going....

I would give my computer a makeover between PP accounts if I were you.

Doesn't withdrawing daily raise some kind of flag?

How much withdrawing is "normal"?
Can you get a PP limitation for "too many frequent withdrawals"?
(sounds like it should qualify for "suspicious activity")
