When you open a business account, the banks ask for both ein and ssn.

On a real PP biz account, they forced me to give them my SSN to keep my account open. It was a business account with EIN number. I was very hesitant, ended up getting angry about having to provide them with this, escalated to a manager, etc and they insisted that I give them my SSN or my account will stay limited. This was maybe three years back.

Now that I've done it I have an extremely secure (I feel...knock on wood) account as I am able to put through about any transaction I can think of without a problem. The only thing that gives me hassles is when I use it to buy and they call to verify that I authorized the transaction.
