Default Getting lots of orders from a prison

I get quite a few orders for prisons, alot in Miami for some reason, and generally they are trouble free. Anyway, I shipped out an order for a pretty expensive book, I just got it back, return to sender from the prison. They dont accept merchandise from third party sellers. has to come from original vendor, I guess the publisher, or Amazon.

Well I get the book back after 14 days, and it is torn up, and looks like it went through food processor. They must of checked it for contraband. I emailed the buyer a couple days ago, still no response.

I guess Im out the cost of the book, and shipping.

Anyone have any experience with prison buyers.

For what it is worth our church has a prison ministry where we donate Study Bibles to them. We have to order soft covers, they do not allow hardcovers in the prisons. That is because they can cut the insides of them out and hide contraband inside. Also if we get some back in that condition, a few times later these people have wrote back and we were told the Staff didn't like the inmate so it was a vindictive act

I have had this happen to me also. Received the same letter about accepting only brand new merchandise from a list of known vendors. Amazon is a known vendor, but that does not extend to third party sellers.

Yes, basically you are out the cost of the book. I cancel prison sales when I detect them. That may not be wise in your case, because you said mostly the experiences are good and this is profitable. The exact opposite of my experience.
