Default Are there limits on a shop

hi

what happens if you open a shop and fork out £15 for it? Will they still restrict you if the items are not high-end?
I'm asking because a friend wants to do this

Default can a new verified seller open a shop?

hi

i have a friend who is freaking out - is about to invest lots of cash in equipment to produce products to sell on that God Almighty Marketplace.
I have been giving her lots of info about their tactics towards new sellers and she is convinced that if she opens a shop and pays her monthly shop fee £15 - that means they will let her list more than 10 items a month and infact let her list as many items as she wants (the items are not high-end or copy-righted), as she believes that they cant possibly take her cash for the month - then say goodbyeI however am not sure, does anyone know?

Many Thanks to everyone

It will be ok provided she doesn't sell a massive amount too quickly.

Yes. Why would you think otherwise?

Limits still apply to sellers who open shops.

My man shady is correct, all selling limits are still in place if its a new account.

And I would advice them not to go listing like crazy at first, unless you are willin to send in the required documentation which they will ask for.

Hi

well she is legit so she will be willing to submit her info (what are they asking for now - uploads of docs or they want you to post the real ones in?)

She wants to run it right, but like i said expects to list many designs of the same type of product. Plus there will be multiples of the same product.

Thank you all

@Notahappybunny...I have seen a lot of stories of "he" and "she" and "my friend" - best bet is to get her on board so we can have full story and make straight recommendations.

She may learn a lot in the process.

As for your post, yes they can and have shut down people from the start - regardless of what was sold, etc. Tell her to have documentation ready and to go slow. All the best.

no really - its not me or i'd say so, not going to get good advice otherwise.

I have told her about my recent troubles and told her to be aware that they often act unfairly or cautiously even to totally legit sellers.

She can and will provide all genuine docs (she is verified, but like i said very new)- so basically give her the bad news that i was right - she probably wont be able to list 100 items straight away even if she pays for a shop.

Many Thanks

Kind of dangerous to list 100 items right away - tell her to list lightly, wait for feedback, and slowly build her store into a high confidence/reliable site - then the listings will go up.

You can also tell her to pm me for my consultation fee =)

lol rsot, always after a fee for his services :D

Well, he's right, you should also tell your friend to do some research on the DSR ratings and the tips on how to keep these high.

So has your friend ever used the same user account as your suspended account?

I am just thinking that if she is in anyway linked to your suspended account, as soon as she does list or increase her volume, she may get suspended.

^^ Hmmm it sounds like a 'only time will tell' situation because you have bothed used the same IP address and user account at the same time, though this being some time before you actually got suspended.

We know what the time will tell shades! Not like you to sit on the fence, lol...you'll get splinters in your a.r.s.e !! Same IP, same user account...game over...just depends when. I just hate it when you know you have made a linking error.

It's like riding a bike with a loose wheel...everything is fine...starts to get wobbly...then whamoo...you ride over the 'suspension' bridge and it all goes pete tong.

Got a question on a legit account? Have your daughter call eBay. Get it straight from the horse's mouth.

High DSR is not a big secret. Don't do what you did.

And as for the 100 items? I say to list them all. It's a legit account, you (I meant your daughter) can provide the info to get it unlocked. Besides, if the account could be linked to yours, find out now when this account is still new.

Bit of info on new accounts. Account formed last week - 105 items listed this week.
The secret? VAT number listed with EB (Not mine I should add)

hi!

Well there are 2 acc at risk - both with different levels of risk.

1. Daughter's - real - verified - but opened on my pc, my add, my surname etc - plus i transfered finds between p;p acc once or twice - all before the restriction on my acc.

2. Friend - no relation - verified, not sharing same add, but is ALWAYS round mine lending my connection (wireless bb). So IP sharing - plus once for about 5 mins, I opened my acc on her laptop - all before the restriction.

Im pretty sure they will unjustly punish my daughter for her link to me - but if they do it to my friend - well, they are gonna be in for a fight, cos she's already talking about legal action and all sorts of bad publicity if they do.

PS - What i did was not bad - just a few low dsr's a 2 neagtives from 6-9 months ago - 5-6 mths apart - no unsolved claims etc.

Many Thanks Everyone

Seriously, have your friend find out directly from THEM.

I chuckle everytime I read about legal actions against THEM. But I never thought I would see it from someone outside of the US. Stop worrying about things that haven't happened yet. You're scarying yourself and her into inaction.

Ok, your DSR is great, just not good enough to sell on THEIR site. Move on, you can start your own website, take GC and set your own shipping terms. GC will even let you hold a CC authorization for 168 hrs. Avoid Amaz on, they're bitchier than THEM.

Haha, matt your posts make me laugh!

@Bunny, your asnwer is simple, use the your daughters account BUT open up some stealth accounts. If your daughters account goes down, well, you still have stealths then

As for your friend possibly linked account, she may still get something out of the account or she may not. What is...is!

Good luck bunny, get some stealth accounts open whilst you are using your daughters account. Just remember to keep all accounts sperate from eachother.
