Ebay verification questions - what is this?

I got a phone number and entered the PIN.. then tried to list an item, they requested me to answer some odd question:

- what is the height on your driver's license

- where does Jordan (last name I put in as my name) live

- who did you purchase the property .. from?

Where do they get this info from? How can I by-pass this?

Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

I think your @@ account is matching some other members' information in their system.
It happened to me once.

80% match (including brithday, last name, and address), it would raise a flag.

This is seems like a standard MC010 type question. Do they give you multiple choices?

eBay has a terrible problem telling f a k e people from real people. If you use an actual person's name and address, that will usually provide eBay enough information to search extensive public records data, where they will ask those kinds of questions in an attempt to verify you are the person you say you are.

Answer "none of the above" to one or two of them, and guess on the others, and you should be fine.

They can't verify the integrity of the data, so it usually just stops people who think they can't continue unless they know the answers to the questions.

Also, if your account is stealth with a f a k e name and address, say an empty lot out in the country, they won't be able to pull public records, and your account can be suspended because eBay won't be able to verify that such a person exists.

Holy crap. This just happened to me 5 minutes ago, my listing was removed and was told to call within 48 hours.
I Called and they wanted to verify some stuff, so i went ahead and did.
Continued to question me about where i live, how long I've stayed there.
Asked me of my previous address, finally they told me they cant find anything in their public data base. So my account is closed now.

Holy #*$&

Did you use a real person's name and real address for the account?

If so, did you answer the questions, regardless of your knowledge as to what the correct answers may be?

Also, were the questions they asked you multiple choice?

I tried that with my newest account and the first time they denied my selling limist. Second time I answered truthfully and got my limits increased. But what confuses me is that 3 of the 4 questions had real info about me and I was scared as hell to answer truthfully the first time.
