If you are safe to receive your packages for last 10 times and then you can contiute to use it.Since EMS and DHL,HKEMS have the same chance to get seized shipping vero products.

see, the part I bolded, that just cannot be true.

Ask anyone who gets stuff from China on the regular, then ask them about receiving items via DHL and EMS. Damn near every person will have a story about a DHL order getting seized, while few of them will have a story about a EMS delivery being seized.

I'm not saying EMS packages don't go through customs, because they do obviously, but the seize rate is much, much higher via DHL.

Not saying I'm a pro and know everything, but from first hand accounts, and from reading what others have said in this sub forum, no way a package sent via EMS has the same chance of being seized as it does going DHL.

I had a parcel come to the UK on Thursday from China via EMS... seized!

I shipped in before 8kg of vero items from China every 2 days about 10 months ago via EMS lost 1 out of many.

DHL parcel came through today fine. So im none the wiser.

If anyone from the UK knows any top tips of getting parcels through with VeRo items please mail me

Might have been the unfortunate victim of a random search.

Either that or your supplier did something different on the paperwork to raise on eyebrow. Still, one out of many, I wouldn't sweat it.

slappzilla,

The thing is I am worried of whether to import small/big packages of vero items now as I think it could all go tits up.

Do you think if I important everyday for the next week, what odds are there do you think of being seized from your experience?

hdavey10 - vero items whilst offering great profits, always carry a risk as customs check packages randomly so it might be the case that all your packages get through, or that their checked.

Just an opinion but tell your supplier to mark down a reasonable/realisitic value for the goods i.e. not $10 for a massive box. Marked as gift is standard really.

Dont lie about what the items are as they go through scanners, smaller packages obviously better than larger, if your address has already done been done for vero items this will also increase the chances of the stuff being seized.

Its all obvious stuff really -hope this helps.

They offer amazing profits in fact!

However, do you think at customs they would just always pick out the biggest boxes to inspect ? or is it literally random?

Im thinking of dropshipping from China via DHL, putting the type of product on the box e.g. Headphones and a realistic value and it should be okay! (Fingers Crossed)

So the overall thought is with my parcel last week that I was very unlucky on my EMS parcel getting seized seeing as before it was all ok.

Beneysz you got any ideas on what i've said?

Yeh the biggest boxes with small amounts declared are probably going to be inspected first as obviously customs want to make sure their getting their fair share!

Then re the vero stuff the inspections are random checks, although perhaps key things might trigger suspicions i.e. 20 hanbags and wallets coming from China/HK, watches, trainers etc.

If its electronics, described accuratley with a realisitc value, much less suspect, then it would be down to luck as to whether they decide to have a quick peek inside!

I only receive 2-3 shipments a week, 12 items at the most in each package, just for the reason being I don't want to go to big and draw attention.

Now that your address is on file, I'd open a PO Box. Open it under a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ business name.

If the supplier is any decent, they will send you two separate packages in one big order so there is no problems

Do you think that maybe the big boxes with a realistic value could be ok as long as they know there is going to be some tax on it they would ignore it or still look?

Yes I deal with all electronics and there are risks but just as risky as running a business with premises having to pay rent, your losing your goods to customs on the odd occassion.

Beneysz - do you ship from China?

As ingle92protege said better to do a couple of smaller boxes still marking realistic value. minimising your risk.

Yeh i ship goods from china on a daily basis.

beneysz - dont you think sending 12 items in a box is just as risky as sending 75 items in 2 boxes like i saw my chinese supplier packaging up to come to the UK. The order of 75 isnt for me but I dont think 2 packages like that will get into the UK unless they state a realistic value. Dont you think ?

It really depends what it is, if we're still talking about consumer electronics, exact same items, then definatley i think 12pcs would get though a lot easier than 75pcs in 2 boxes.

The value has to be realistic, if you put a low value to try and avoid charges, this will create more incentive to inspect. In any case if its a big quantity of anything that could be dubious theyl probably be tempted to open it anyways.

I think to spread the goods over as many boxes as possible and declare a reasonable value is the best way forward.

I am new to this forum. If you open a PO Box, what is the largest parcel the post office will take? Sometimes my boxes are 3ft x 2ft. I have had very bad luck lately using DHL through Los Angeles. Have received three letters in the past 3 months. I feel like I am blacklisted at DHL, but am concerned that there is a customs blacklist system wide. Using EMS now, but am still very anxious.

Your packages must be light then because I thought USPS limit was 70lbs.

My last order was placed thinking it would come EMS because it was smaller. Seller messages me that it will be coming DHL...I write him back saying NO!!!!...the last three attempts to different addresses all got seized.
He says not to worry it is a smaller package.
Sure enough, 3 days later it was here safe and sound.
It's been a couple of weeks now and I'm thinking that it should be safe to re-order to the same address as the last

I've never had issues with either (touch wood). DHL is definitely faster but I always get hit with customs duty / VAT. With EMS, far more shipments come through with no charges to pay.

Ebayorbust the above you have said about charges is very grey because I receive lots of lower amounts of VAT and TAX via DHL and very high amount with EMS
