Default Making Feedback Private, anyone tried this?

I went to the EBAY page that reads make your feedback private

Well I went to check the box, one said make your feedback public (checked by default) then the other said make your feedback private. I went to check it yet it also said "You will not be allowed to Sell"

So what I wondered is...a buyer just left me positive feedback with bad dsrs contrary to his feedback comments and he lied in DSR's. If I make it private right now, so when he checks my feedback his comments won't be shown, I am thinking he may not respond. OTherwise he may say "Liar!"

If I make it private, can I change it back to public when I am ready to sell?

Thanks

If you set your feedback to pvt now, since he already left negative feedback in the past, it will still show. This was the case when I was on ebay, I doubt anything has changed. Also, even if you set it to private, they can still say something to hurt your feedback that'll be visible, for example "Seller sold me a phake item that was worthless!", and yes you can always change it back.

Thanks Red. He left Positive Feedback but negged my DSR's as best he could.

I made my feedback private AFTER i left the comment to his positive feedback.

my comment to his positive feedback was "despite positive feedback, he left bad DSR Ratings

I'll keep this as a buyer account instead, for a while...Thx

I have not bothered to make feedback private Mel since that looks kind of dodgy. When I get a negative, I just bump up low sales and push the neg off the main chart.

RSOT buyer left positive FB BUT DSRs were dinged

Buyers feedback page -Example (sic)

(my ebay id) Great Buyer, thanks so much!
Follow up: Buyer requests more items, leaves positive fb yet DINGS DSR's??

I'd like to prevent ...

Buyer requests more items, leaves positive fb yet DINGS DSR's??

Follow Up: "Seller lied in FB. I DID NOT DING THEIR DSR's

Maybe there is no incentive if it can't be read, they see my FB is now private. It's worked so far..maybe other sellers who choose to scan his feedback for any truths left , a heads up. They may even want to cancel his bid
