Thumbs down Paypal limited my limited account. Aka how much worst of a service can they be?

Well actually, this would be the THIRD limitation Paypal slaps on top of a limited account. 6 Month ago, this account was limited because they wanted to confirm my ID. Of course, I ignored it and kept on selling like all my other turn and burn accounts until the 45 day period is up. A few month later, they slapped on another limitation after months of inactivity, saying that I was indulging in activities which violates their acceptable policy of usage. Because the secondary limitation is only 45 days, it does absolutely nothing but continued on its original limitation time instead.

Last night, I received that generic email saying that your funds is eligible for withdrawal since it has been 6 months. So I added a bank account, withdrawn the funds from it, and walked away from it like all the other accounts I do. A few hours later, I received a email saying that my account is once again limited, due to "wanting to make sure that no one else has logged into my account without my permission", reversed my withdrawal, and REMOVED MY WITHDRAWING ABILITY. I'm guessing if I don't do anything about it, the funds won't be able to be withdrawn for ANOTHER 180s.

Seriously Paypal?

They couldn't be worse than a bank which requires ssn and all that, paypal makes it easier then anyone else out there, they give you an app that takes 1 minute to fill out in order to open another account, that's how simple it is, paypal is the best ever!

So how exactly is this my fault then?

Well anyways, gave them a call and they granted the withdraw ability back. They seriously need to rework their system sometimes

That really is stupid on their part BiN - yes the initial limitation is whatever but that 3rd part about query on illegal access is idiocy. Glad you got the account sorted.

@Jb, few points to disagree with you there - I don`t want to compare PP to a bank but anyhow.

Never said paypal was like a bank, they're better than a bank.

Banks don't limit your account for no reason and ask you for supplier info now do they

Bro you don't even have a valid argument to begin with. All you said was signing up with Paypal takes a matter of minutes while banks takes a lot more effort. How can you possibly say Paypal is better than a bank simply because of this one point?

There's something called reading between the lines, but anyway you don't want to see what I do with my 50+ paypal accounts, it would blow your mind.

I know what you're getting at jb about between the lines - sure PP has its plus points. For this particular case of BiN's, it's a mess so I won't generalize.

This is a stealth forum, a non stealth person using real info has to worry about problems like this, with stealth you can make unlimited accounts so no need to worry about problems like this.

We already know paypal limits and ebay suspends, that's never gonna change, so why complain about it? just make more accounts and keep it moving, you still get your money out in 6 months, you don't lose anything by getting limited.

Agreed. No need to complain, you know the drill. And i agree with the read between the lines thing. I wonder what bank lets you create as many stealth accounts as you want

This.

Banks runs off of federal regulations, Paypal does not. They are also directly linked with government entities such as the tax agenies and police department, paypal isn't. If you screw with the bank (yes, that does include using false information), you'd be screwing with a lot more than you think. You simply cannot say Paypal is better than banks overall solely because you can run stealth accounts. Banks don't close you down unless you do something really suspicious or screwed with them.

That's not what my first post was talking about although being better than a bank is one of the benefits of paypal, your money is obviously much safer sitting in off ebay paypal's than a bank but that still wasn't my original point though.

jb is just pointing out you can open an account under John Doe, make money via it and at some point get your money. It is a serious advantage to be certain. Hate what they do to us, sure. But its there letting people do some pretty crazy things if you think about it....

There will be a day, and hopefully its way down the road, collecting money like this will be pretty much impossible. What we have now for better or worse is pretty sweet

God I would hate to see the day when eB and pp ask for Ssn and etc. up front. I think they know they're making money too from all the stealth accounts so it's a win win situation for us.

My guess would be that they were unable to match your computer / ip address to your previous logins, that's the reason they've reversed the withdrawal..

Think as a hacker, what would you do? Login to the hacked account add your bank acc details and then withdraw all the funds.. For paypal system, if they cannot match you by cookies or by IP then it's not you.

You should call them and explain, I'm sure you don't have to wait another 180 days...

Banks remove credit facilities without notice.

Banks withhold & do not release funds that belong to a customer.

Same sh&t, different shades.:rofl2:

Re-read your post since you are appear upset....

You rode the account as far as you could ( that's excellent, truly.)

Then you stopped using the account, had a period of inactivity & you baulk at what paypal does? You got outplayed

Je ne sais quoi :tinhat:
