I actually had fun picking through things. I could of bought tons of silver ware for feedback but ran out of money. I wasn't expecting of buying anything so didn't bring much cash with me.

Hell's Angel's biker vests??? Better be careful with those... Do they have the rocker patches across the shoulders and across the bottom?

Ok, here is my contribution to the thread.. Keep your eyes open for old school blank audio cassette tapes. Sealed in the plastic. They sell great and for a good price. I think rappers brought them back or something..

Let me add to that.

Preferably the 90 min. High Bias Cassette Tapes, you need to get them new, sealed and in bulk. And if not in bulk, hold them until you get at least enough for a lot of 10. And never pay more than 50¢ each for them.

Do you really want to know what a real treasure find is? Reel-to-Reel tapes! I bought a case of them last year for under $10. and made nearly $1500. in profit. I literally had customers begging me to list more.

Next week I will be starting a tips-and-tricks thread on how and what to buy at Garage/Yard/Estate sales and how to make a decent amount of money doing so.

Kinda.

Most items are donated for a reason.

Goodwill helps disabled people by giving them jobs and training while Salvation Army gives people a place to live for a period of time who need it, feed them and do tons of charity things etc for those in need.

So its a cool thing.

Full of all kinds and types of items.

Like BG said, its a gold mine of money for those who have time to go through everything in a large store.

I am lucky to have no less then 25 or so around me in a circle any direction I go.

Any vintage Harley items sell for some bucks.

Hells angels should do well if listed well.

Armani suit. You will do well with that.

I always find SILVER in those bins of silverware as most people just look for a fork or spoon. HINT--- take a small magnet with you!!!!

Always check out the other shelves of silverplated items to see if there is any silver in the group.

I always donate my change at Goodwill too. You are lucky to have 25 GW's by you.. I have maybe 6-8.. :(

I stopped in a couple Goodwills yesterday.. I bought an old school Game Boy color for $5. These go for about $40. I also grabbed 2 GPS units for $15 each. These sell real well for $100+ each. I love $80 profits on items less than $20.

Here's a little note about goodwill:

The employees aren't allowed to purchase the items in the store.

Sure I'm positive that it happens but when I was at a goodwill this worker came up to me and asked if I would buy him a pair of sneakers cause they aren't allowed to purchase items. He gave me the cash of course. I said sure and went to checkout. The cashier looked at me and said "Sorry, I can't sell things to a GoodWill employee even if a customer is buying them for him".

I thought it was a little petty. But that could be part of the reason why goodwill has some better items than other places.

I also found out that each store has a "Production Manager" whose job it is to price things. You can tell when they look things up on ebay because it is priced maybe 15%-20% less... Many items are overlooked though.

Oh is that how it works in goodwill? At arc, I think there is one guy (district supervisor?) in the area that goes store to store to price things. I see him at the arc stores around here and he prices things so retardedly it's not even worth it.

But yeah, not only that but I've seen thrift stores have something they think is REALLY good and price it super high. Then they print out some random Ebay ad that shows that it's worth that much Even though most of the time and it's not even the same model or brand.

I've also noticed that goodwills in downtown areas or in the middle of nowhere have the worst prices for whatever reason.

I used to find them but not much anymore unless at a yard sale.
