Default Accidental Refund .

Greetings everyone

So what happened was I accidentally refunded a buyer's payment.

Is there any way I could retract this, other than contacting and asking the buyer to resend the money?

I have done this before. If you ask nicely, you would be surprised at the integrity of some buyers. I have even sent items by accident to buyers who I refunded before shipping. Again, I was surprised.

Just to give you an idea of what you are dealing with, you should check the feedback they have left for other buyers.

Like the others have said, simply tell the buyer exactly what happened and kindly ask them to send you the money back.

I've heard it works most of the time.

Ouch

A solid professional reply will easily get your money back - for e.g you could mention your company made a mistake on the transaction and would like to request it back - kind regards - and so on you get the idea...

Best of luck.

Very valid points here - up to the buyer.

Yikes!!

That reminds me when I told a seller a problem I had with a $150 item. It was a piece of testing equipment which I had to fix and buy parts for. He said it was in perfect working condition (although, I don't think he knew exactly how the item worked so I don't think he was trying to scam).

I explained to him how it was unfair that I thought the item needed no work and that the whole reason for paying so much money was to get an item that I didn't need to spend four hours on. There were many on Ebay that had described flaws for much cheaper that I didn't bid on because I felt lazy at the time and just wanted something that worked.

He replied with a 100% refund! Of course, I felt bad cause that wasn't what I was looking for, so I sent him $100 back as I thought this was fair. I told him I left him 100% positive feedback and thanks so much for everything. He said thanks and refunded me $50 back as he thought this was fair cause he didn't accurately describe the product!

So that's the note we ended on. lol. Yeah, sometimes people are surprisingly honest and sincere.

Any word from the OP? Did you ask?
