Activity: 0% Longevity: 68% | | Thinking about starting my own business
I'm thinking about starting a new business, not sure yet what but probably on ebay using a stealth account.
I have everything planned and ready to go in terms of the stealth account,
just not too sure what exactly i want to start whole selling.
I wondered, alot of you seem very clever and clearly dedicated/knowledgeable, how did you find your market to which you wholesale now?
I've tried looking on import sites such as alibaba but haven't found anything i think would be suitable.
what would you guys recommend a newb |

No one will tell you what their selling, but what I use to do was watch & observe other sellers, by observe I mean look at what their selling, and also by watching their feedback to see what responses the buyers were giving the sellers.
If you find that a certain seller is making a decent amount of money, sometimes you can send them a pvt message, and they'll wholesale to you themselves, especially the bigger companies with thousands to 100's of thousands of feedback.
In the past I have offered to team up with sellers, we exchanged suppliers, and I had created an online empire back in the day.
Also, check out SimilarSites.com - Easily Find Similar Websites I posted this a long time ago, enter any wholesale site you can name, and it will give you 10 similar sites back in return.

Ah I hear you - tired of nickel and diming...just remember top sellers sell a LOT of volume with low profits - 5 x 1000 is a way of approach...

I totally agree with RED...everything i sell, is done through the homework of watching what others are doing, good tip when using eb, is to look at completed listings of something/anything, not only does that give you the fair market price of something, it also tells you if something actually selling and not just sitting on the shelf..then the fun starts by looking to see if you can get hold of it..where there's a will there's always a way
Good luck finding something |

Look at your own hobbies and interests.
Endeavour to sell something within that area.
Going by your age group I can think of several items
I'm not knocking alibaba too much. But avoid the potential problems of phakes

Me too, i try and look for products in certain markets that sellers are selling in high volume, look for a source and research the product to see if i can compete or better the few sellers selling that products, buying in a large volume always seems to do that, i do this across all markets in a kind of get in get out way, you should be able to find one product in any one market at anyone time that is selling really well.
i spend more time doing this than anything else in the work world

A dollar should be fine and wont have to worry as much about the competitors dropping that low too. You want to keep the price as high as possible and still make sells for long term success.

Undercutting of a popular product only angers up the competitive blood - be careful.

Op my best ideas come from hours spent at the computer searching various formers. Try looking at money making forums, business forums, etc. There is always some guy who is doing really well and wants to tell the world about it
