Default paypal now requiring verification at australia post

hey guys,

i used my stealth account to sell a guitar (perfectly legit one) and sold it for $1300. This if course put me over the $1000 threshold and paypal asked for docs.

I sent in my docs, they were all accepted, and paypal then asked me to complete an 'identity verification form' and submit it to aust post. They require 'ORIGINAL' documents.

As far as i can see, there is no way around this. I actually tried to convince the young girl at the post office to accept my copies and i played dumb, but no luck - she showed me, the computer specifically states they need originals.

anyone else had this problem and is there a solution?

What identification form did they require exactly? What name is your account under?

There is no way around this except refund to you buyer and ask him pay to your bank or another good paypal account (don't have $1000 limitation).

I been tried doing the verification **** with aupost but no luck because Auspost and paypal is now linked, they can check if it's legit or not!

I have got hit by this limit as well. It seems like after March 2011, this new rule has been applied. When money exist over $1000 dollars in your PP acc, you need to prove your identity together with your address.

Seems like there is no way around this, unless the person is actually living in the registered address.

And therefore, the virtual office won't work as well now.

Anyone got any tips?

Can someone clarify....is it having $1000 in your account that's the problem, or selling an item for $1000 or more?

Receiving a total of $1000 and over.

My situation: received 2 separate payment of $500 & $750 in two days, and then bang, my acc is now limited.

I think it's one of the hoops they have put in place which, if you are legit, you can jump through with no problem - after that you are probably good to go.

If you are not legit you have problems - and this is what they want to do, create problems for you if you are not legit

Difficult

Paypal australia has a $1000 anti money laundering regualtion. Have a account that gets that total( by any means & the account faces the checking).

pffft it's in the same vein as the UK £1900.

And we know how to deal with that

True GB - but we don't have to present in person or to a third party for confirmation. I'm sure there are ways around it but not trading on the Australian platform I'm just speculating
