MC999 on multiple attempts for a stealth account.

the more we say on these forums the more there secirty learn about us, i think is time for newbies to learn how to do there things on there own and stop gving out the answers on the forum. Seriously next thing it they will vamp it up to 60 days

it depends most times they say have a nice day and relist your item sometimes they say sorry I cannot verify your information and unfortunately you wont be able to sell on ebay 90 to 1 have a nice day relist your item

It is a catch 22 on giving out info since we were all "newbies" at one time or the other. I agree on the high-level operation techniques not always being disclosed out in the open though but for the most part, stealth is logical.

Call them, they always do this to me...Im on my 3rd account, and I called to verify all of them....All you have to do is remember the information you gave them about who you are and they will ask you basic questions about the items you are selling, wither or not they are Personal items or purchased for resale...being as tho your only listing 2 or 3 items at first I would just let them know they're my own items i had laying around and just want to get started on the bay, then your done...

They immediately lift the restriction and your good to go from there...Just remember to take it slow...

I started out the gate selling Ipod touches for over $200 each...They restricted me after i sold both of them...Talk about stealth

@ Greenbean..Ive done it all with phony info...Just have to talk a certain way...you have to think like a newbie and talk that way...make pretend you never had an ebay account in your life, and your good to go...I mean you have nuthin to lose anyway...

I recently received a mc999 on one of my accounts. I listed a few items (new acct, open about 3 or 4 days) all auctions but i added buy it nows. One of the items sold the very next day. I shipped the item immediately, provided tracking and the next day E bay restricted the account. I started to just scrap the account, but since im new to this I decided to call in & just see what kinda questions they asked.

Long story short they asked if i had a supplier or if items were my personal items........told them they were my personal items.

They asked for my address..........gave them whats on the stealth.......they kept putting me on hold saying they were trying to pull up a questionaire to ask me

Then they asked for my previous address..........had one ready, gave them that (an old apartment i use to live in, but gave them the address on another street in the complex & a bogus apt #) he then asked if this was the address on my DL, i said no & gave him some made up address i pulled out the air..........he said please hold again while i pull up a questionaire............still he couldn't pull up anything........he eventually came back & said we'll you successfully passed the verification and re instated the account..........i was shocked because i just knew it was a lost cause

But now i don't ever add the buy it now when first listing, because it think its a red flag
the rep just kept saying its because your account is new..........i guess it helped that i had shipped the item so quickly & provided tracking..........who knows...........i was glad to get the account back............i hope this info helps someone

3 different accounts made on different VPS's were hit immediately after first listing. all were built up between 5-10 feedback prior to listing, is ebay hitting all new accounts with mc999?

It's because you are listing immediately after creating the account. It has nothing to do with a seller account.

eBay figures that most people that are legitimate and create an eBay account and immediately start selling will have no problem validating their identity.

Create the account, link in the verified Paypal, browse and search a few things, then let it sit for 30 days. I know you want to immediately start selling but you need to let it not be a yellow starred brand new account before listing.

Start slow, list old DVD's or something to build the account. That is the easiest way to do it. For the first 6 months just list the limit each month. I know it sucks and some of you are trying to make a career out of this, but you have to just be reasonable.

For three or four months only sell small items, $5.00 or so a piece, get 30 or 40 feedback 10 a month or so and then gradually build up. By the time the year comes to a close you will have a rock hard seller account come holidays.

In the mean time, get a real job! Everyone complains I got banned because I opened an account and then listed stuff 90 minutes later. Well duh, obviously if you are that hellbent on selling you can provide your details to eBay can't you?

Just be realistic on this stuff, I promise it's better to wait 6 months and only make $200 and then have a selling machine with $2,000 limits and immediate withdrawls come August.

I wholeheartedly back Greenbean's points.

I've made several accounts over the last few months because I'm selling an item with a sketchy keyword in it. On multiple occasions I sold a lot, got MC999 and called in. I called in on all of them (had no choice otherwise), and less than half got reinstated. The rest got an indefinite ban. It didn't matter anyway, because all of the ones that got reinstated then got hit with the indefinite ban later on.

Starting out slow, avoiding the MC999 altogether, and NOT CALLING is the way to go. I also get better results when I place lots of bids. I'll bid on expensive newly listed items that start at 99 cents, like TVs, laptops, etc. I put in tons of bids on this stuff, knowing I'll immediately get outbid, and it seems to help.

Browsing, bidding and showing some history will help most new accounts. I do this all of the time. LOL I am the 0.99 bid queen as I bid on many items that I know will sell into the hundreds easily just to get some action going on the account.

Then when I do list, it is low end no brand name items that wont raise a flag or cause issues.

Call ebay----- nope.

They will then ask for your blood type, the color of your eyes and your great grandmothers sisters dogs name.

A month is just safer to avoid issues for the most part. But even then, things can happen.

There are some who can list right off the bat.

The best is if you always add accounts as backup. Then they will be 30 days old. I have some that are going on 3 years. lol
