bottom line is that without signature the buyer will win a dispute, if they send paperwork to you then fine but you can also proceed without it and make a claim.
if there is no signature, then it is quite possible the buyer is telling the truth, the post people were rushing around prior to xmas......
other possibilty is that the buyer got it but because of the rush was not asked for signature, that happens occasionally.
either way you will get some money back via a claim, you need to send originals of receipt of the value and postal receipt, they will write to buyer to verify. They do not need the 'while you were out card' you do not need to mention that.
depends how much the buyer knows about the system, as to whether they get scared by you saying they will get reported and back down, but if they know the system then it is no signature= win claim...
