Default 1st time sale on eBay help

Hey so I decided to follow a few people's advice after reading that you should start off ageing a ebay, sell a few small things and build up.

and of course have a paypal linked to it fully verified aged too which I have now.
So I created a stealth ebay which matches the paypal and got them verified fully and limits lifted.

Anyway I sold a old phone that was faulty for £38 on eBay. The balance is under the 21 day hold thing and basically I sent it recorded next day delievery before 9am. It has a electronic signature and of course was only sent to the paypal verified address.
It's been 3 working days (and will be like 6 days) on Monday from when I sent the item, but the buyer hasn't left feedback..or opened a dispute..so I rang PayPal today and they told me that I have to wait 21 days for the funds?
Is this really true? Or what can I do?

I normally just send the buyer an email .
Something like.
Thank you for your purchase , I see from my tracking details it has been delivered and i hope you are happy with the item.
As i am a new seller ebay hold the funds for my transactions until i have received feedback so i would appreciate greatly if you could find the time to do so then my funds will be released to me .

This normally works a treat for me and the comments come back from buyers " i didnt know they did that ill leave feedback right away"

And once they do the funds are available .

I had something simlar happen recently, item arrived buyer left positive feedback but funds were not released still a week later. Following advice on here I emailed PP the tracking number and EB item number and they released the funds immediately. This is part of the accompanying email they sent:

'In the future, when we hold an eBay payment temporarily for 21 days, funds can be released instantly once the corresponding buyer has left a positive feedback, or you provide us a tracking number which confirms that your item was sent 3 days ago to the address specified in the transaction details page.'

I dont think feedback has anything to do with it. The funds are released 3 days after tracking shows delivered. Some buyers dont leave fb or leave fb before they get the item so its of no use. Sometines eb system does not recognize that tracking shows delivered so you have to phone pp and they will do an override.

It is a UK account.

Variations occur with the release of funds from paypal.

paypal may release the funds.

It is going to depend on the happiness meter of the staff person you speak with ( if you call them.)....

Leave it until say lunchtime Tuesday ( or a little later). Payment may be thro' & you are spared having to talk to them.

Hi I called them today. Woman said to me, we don't release funds until after 30 days. I said to her, 30 days?? Your ebay/paypal notice says 21? Then she says wait..give me your royal mail tracking..puts me on hold.. Oh I spoke to my manager and as it was delievered 5 days ago according to royal mail theres no dispute too..i can release the funds..

*LOL AT 30 DAYS COMMENT* *withdraws and leaves £15 in *

what i tend to do with ebay is i add tracking number to paypal payment, which automatically adds it to ebay, thus once item is recieved paypal can verify it directly and has worked for me when releasing money under 21 days

guys, screw calling paypal , just do what i do, it should work and plus looks more professional to ebay and paypal so when a dispute does open from a buyer, paypal already know you sent the item on a certain date etc

flipping heck, Its not that hard to understand......

But this might be

The funds SHOULD be released if and when feedback is left, but it does not always happen even when feedback has been left, so emailing buyers does not always work becuase they leave feedback but funds do not get released.

if you do nothing about it, then 21 days your money should be avalible to withdraw, does not always happen either, go figure lol

Regardless of the above, If you want, 3 days after (not including the day you sent it) If you have tracking you can send an email to PP with the tracking id and transaction id and if they can see it in progress on RM website or where ever, PP will release the funds.

i also add all tracking to pp, but that does nothing for wanting money 4 days after sending the item.
