Default Windows vs MAC?

Hi all,

I am looking at getting a MAC, currently using WINDOWS 7 on a PC and laptop, laptop is only for eBay.

MAC will run all my eBay accounts - does everything work the same way with being able to create seperate users, keeping cookies seperate etc?

Anything I need to know before purchasing? Can anyone tell me the latest MAC version as there are a lot of M/ codes...

Thanks

Pretty sure the latest version of OSX is Mavericks 10.9.3 However there is a new major update to 10.10 expected on June 2. Most likely will be a free update again.

You will always be able to run BootCamp so that you can install Windows 7/8 and run as per usual if you run into any problems.

Whatever you do, make sure you get an SSD. Worth the upgrade costs. My three year old MacBook Pro still boots and loads applications faster than most 2014 models.

Nice! All OK with multiple user accounts with stealth etc?

Also, when I meant about the hardware model I meant when you go to buy one they all seem to have different numbers like: e.g. MD760B/A

Do you know which model number is the newest?

I can't comment on the multiple user accounts as I am new to stealth have not run multiple accounts as of yet.

Have a read of iPhone, iPad, Mac Buyer's Guide: Know When to Buy it has some good information about whether you should wait it out for any particular model you want.

As for model numbers - when you add the model you want into the cart on the Apple Store the model number comes up under the Remove/Save button. (On the right)

Apple Macs work great with stealth. You can use multiple user accounts just like a PC.

@Simplex

Better than a PC.

More stable to use.

Your absolutely right. I find that Mac OS X runs more smoothly and uses less disc space per user account, compared to its windows counterpart.

All of my programs are currently on Windows, what do I need to do to them so that I can transfer them over to the MAC, will they automatically run OK or does a 'conversion' process need to happen?
