| eseller | 01-27-2009 11:51 PM | Rushcard is great. You can use a Rushcard as a bank account in Paypal.
You get the routing and account number from their direct deposit form. |

Russell Simmons is one of my heroes though :) |
| eseller | 01-28-2009 02:21 AM | It's not so bad really, they take 20 bucks the first time you get a deposit to activate it, then it's 2 bucks each time you withdraw from an ATM....if you want to use it to shop with then it gets ridiculous I think to pay a dollar every time you make a purchase.
I used to let the money build up on the Rush, and then make a couple of ATM withdrawals a week. Once I got my Paypal debit card, I just withdrew my money with that.
The good thing about having Rush in Paypal as your primary checking acct --- they CANNOT pull money out of it like they can with a regular checking account.
The money only goes one way with Rush -- ON TO YOUR CARD, never off! |
| Exeneva | 01-28-2009 03:27 AM | So they can't reverse a direct deposit to your Rush? |
| eseller | 01-28-2009 12:27 PM | If the money has already posted to your Rushcard, they cannot take it back.
If the deposit has not hit your Rushcard, then yes, I suppose they can still reverse them while "in transit". |

Is your Rushcard in your real name?
I looked at it and it does look kinda interesting. I have never used it.
I saw on the sign up screen that they, Rushcard, wants your SSN.
So I am guessing that you MUST use your real name.
I see how you can get money out of Paypal onto your Rushcard.
But I also read this: "Everyone Approved
*pending verification of identity
* Transfers MUST be in the name of the cardholder
* Funds cannot be transferred from your Prepaid Visa RushCard to PayPal"
SO the way I am interpreting the sign-up screen & the Paypal instructions is this: - Your Rushcard MUST be in your real name because they want your SSN at sign up.
- Any transfers from Paypal to Rushcard MUST be in the name of the Rushcard holder.
- If I am right then this card would NOT work for any "Stealth Account" than is not in the Rushcard holders real name.
- And you can not get a Rushcard in a "Stealth" name due to the SSN requirement.
eseller
Please let me know if I am understanding it correctly. |
| GreenBean | 01-28-2009 06:55 PM | RBS key account working very well.
Voipfone UK working. |

Yes on #1 and #4. You have to use a real social security number and also a driver's license number to get your Rushcard, you can't just make up names. Same as when you open a checking account to use with Paypal, they're requiring the same things that the bank does.
#2 I don't agree with. I've never had a deposit rejected for the names not matching. THE FOLLOWING IS ONLY MY OPINION>>>>>>>I think they're telling us that on the website to discourage stealth use, but in reality, I do not believe that the names are compared or checked. |
| GreenBean | 01-28-2009 10:35 PM | eseller,I like most of your answers about this card. BUT (& I specialize in buts), would it be
better to say that it is not likely that the name differences are checked?
If we accept 'reality' it implies that this card is 100% fine. My feeling is that
it is not. By the very nature of the thread title, aspkin is after as much info as possible.
If you agree, would you amend your post, please? |

Oh, yes, the "in reality" is based on my opinion and my experience only! |

Hi
Updates needed on Uk bits, all verified by me personally
smile(online) ,cooperative (online) works, all the high street bank current accounts working, ING doesnt work.
Voip works, see UK forum. voipfone.co.uk
vouchers 3v work for paypal only
visavcc.com is better than 3v as cheaper, almost instant, no need to amend address if needed, can get one each for ebay and paypal | isn't visavcc.com for US only? |
| siashay | 02-11-2009 09:15 AM | Peoples bank worked for me on two accounts |
| aspkin | 02-11-2009 06:34 PM | People's United Bank? https://www.peoples.com/
Most banks should work regardless, but it's nice adding confirmed anything. |
| siashay | 02-11-2009 06:56 PM | Yes, I used them for two accounts. One has been up for a year on feb 18th the other has been up for four months. |
| aspkin | 02-11-2009 07:07 PM | Thanks Siashay, it's added. |
| coolandcalm | 02-11-2009 10:24 PM | If you are a member of a credit union, find out if the credit union has "holiday" club savings accounts, ususally the credit union will give you as many as you like for different things you could be saving for like travel, auto repairs, etc. Each new sub account gives you a different account number, or at least an extension of your main account for example main account 12345, holiday account could be 12345-01, trust me, they work fine with paypal. |
| eseller | 02-14-2009 10:39 PM | Update on Rushcard -
I have information from an associate of mine.
They held a deposit where the names on the PP and the Rushcard account were just slightly different. Same last name, but different first names. And two days later, the PP account got limited - not 100% sure if Paypal called them or not, I don't have all the details. |
| aspkin | 02-15-2009 12:06 AM | Haha.. I knew Rushcard wouldn't last. :)
Thanks, |
| siashay | 02-16-2009 03:19 PM | Hi all, I just open another paypal account using guarantybank. I just got the 2 small deposits and everything went good so far. Now for the real trick. I do something that many here say is a big no no. I withdrawal my paypal funds back into my bank account. So far I haven't lost any accounts doing it this way. So we will see. I will give it a few weeks and payments and let you know if it works. |
| coolandcalm | 02-16-2009 11:19 PM | That is a good bank, i have used them before with no problems |
| aspkin | 02-17-2009 04:47 AM | Thanks guys, it's added. |
| oompaloompa | 02-24-2009 02:07 PM | according to a couple of UK forumers Llyods bank shared info with PP, worked ok for me but probably best to avoid, given there are other good banks out there. |
| aspkin | 02-24-2009 11:16 PM | Lloyds TSB yes?
Thanks noted. |
| aspkin | 02-24-2009 11:18 PM | Added NetSpend prepaid card as NOT recommended. |
| GreenBean | 02-25-2009 12:06 AM | Hmm, you might like to add Metabank with netspend.
Re:llyods. agree that it should not be on list: there is a choice of accounts
available but BOTH have given problems on recent attempts.:ahhhhhh: |
| aspkin | 02-25-2009 12:12 AM | thx thx . |
| planes | 02-26-2009 12:09 AM | My credit union is a no go. Looks like DCU blocked Paypal. |
| aspkin | 02-26-2009 09:16 AM | DCU–Digital Federal Credit Union–Banking ?
PayPal didn't like it? |
hscb bank UK don't work anymore, they wanted me to open up a business account for ebay and paypal, a big headache, since my account has gone down this week |
| aspkin | 02-28-2009 06:46 PM | Thanks Lucy, noted. |
Aspkin, hsbc told me yesterday that they only let you have one basic bank account and one other account and if you are needing an account for paypal or ebay, then you need to open up a business account and they charge fees on that, so i didn't take their offer up. i'm from the UK if that helps |
| aspkin | 03-01-2009 12:13 PM | I see.. okay thanks. |
| coolandcalm | 03-01-2009 11:23 PM | Another bank that works for paypal is Woodforest Bank, google it for your state, they have a 2nd chance checking & savings account that they approve for anyone with valid ID. |
