Last year on July, 2013, the same issue happened, and later (about 3months) I just check that account 0/00 again, and have a suprise is all account with limit 0/00 change to 5items/$500.00. Have someone see that???

I was having issues over the last 2 weeks with 60% 0/0... I assumed I was running into a bad batch of prior used addresses/numbers.... 4/4 with no problems today :cheer:

Maybe they were testing new security, got overloaded with customer service calls and decided it wasn't worth it or it was just a glitch.

if they popped in here to see what effect their changes were having on us... :doh:

Just created a new account my usual way with verified PP then linked to eBay got the 0/0 right off the bat. Using my 4G Verizon hotspot. EB account was over 2 weeks old.

I used GV and Text+ neither worked. Nodeal (on page 3) used GV, Text+, Sendhub and a tracfone, none worked for him, still got the 0/0.

I don't have a problem either. I posted on 3 new accounts that are almost 3 months old next week.

But my accounts are European accounts.

I cannot personally confirm this, but I wouldn't be surprised of GV is the cause. Their numbers has been recycled a billion times already, and eBay most likely acknowledge the fact that a lot of users are using it to verify their eBay accounts by now already.

Except I made some with Text+ and Nodeal made his with GV, Text+, Tracfone and sendhub. No go on all of them

UPDATE

used a friends phone number for a stealth account I just made. This stealth account was successful, no 0/0 limit.

Went and made another stealth account same exact way with txt+ and I got hit with the 0/0.

I am about to pick up a couple tracphones and experiment some more. Also going to try Sendhub and gv again.

Hmmm looks like my hypothesis might be right, eBay might be blacklisting the numbers used by cheap prepaid phone and forwarding services commonly used by stealthers.

You guys missed my post? =} All good over here yesterday 4/4 with google voice. Was 50-60% 0/0 last week, I will try again today and report back.

It's possible that the scenario is a hit and miss. You might have gotten GV numbers that hasn't been used before yesterday while the ones prior were recycled. We'll have to see what other people are reporting in based on their experiances in the upcoming days before any conclusions can be drawn.

They probably updated their system and flagged a bunch of IPs, phones, VCC, etc. No worries a new way will be coming.

Anyone ever thought of starting their own phone fwd services? Maybe I should! :)

lol i saw your post. however, i had an account get shut down while doing it with a tracphone. but now i am thinking that specific shutdown was for a different reason, because as of right now i am 2/2 using a prepaid phone and 0/2 using txt+

I normally just call in. Well that's free info for you.

Last year my 1st dozen stealth. I called in on all of them and here is my limits on the accounts the best ones.

230/8000 TRS
100/5000 TRS
240/6000
240/8000 TRS
120/4000
110/5500 TRS
150/5000

the others are below 100 items. TRS is top rated seller.

anyways out of the 11 accounts I called in. Only one didn't get the raise but now it's at 62. I could careless to have 100 items at all times. the rep on the phone said they don't allow this to happen. I was like thinking "really?" lol cause I just did 10 others that day with higher limits one got 240 limit on it. And most of my accounts got 180 to 250 feedback + 18 months old oh and I did this the first week some even before posting on the accounts.

They just ask you for the information on the account your date of brith, your last 4 on your credit card or whatever you put in the system. Also they might ask you for sure where you get the items etc. I just say my own story so its good. etc.

My main account has no limits and over $6 million listed.

I don't get why everyone uses cheap phone systems. I mean spend the extra $15 to $30 on it at least. Most want cheap free and those have been all used up by people scamming.

I'm 3/3 on successful account creation now. I think it is the phone number, at least to an extent. Sendhub, txt+ and google voice were all giving me problems. Not everyone is having the same experience, but based on what i've seen personally i'll be staying away from these.

Wouldn't recommend it. Skype is one of the most commonly known online phone service, and it was formerly owned by eBay before Microsoft bought it.

update:
Today I made 3 accts: 1 got 0/0, 1 got 10/1k, 1 got unlimited (last week I have some accts got unlimited, but after try to list, ebay will remove listing and email about my account is restricted<--- so confused this acc type)

2/2 10/1K today using Gvoice to test... so that's 6/6 in last 2 days with Gvoice.

There's no such thing as accounts with no limits. Even if a selling limit isn't visible in your selling page, there are still internal limits that triggers suspension or a manual account review if you try to sell above it.

Did you have any dificultly when get NEW Gvoice in last week, I can't get any NEW Gvoice within 5 days.

once.... but i cleared cookies and logged back in and everything was fine.

Today the SMS confirmation from ebay wasn't working for me. Google has been making getting Gmail & Gvoice # more difficult, so maybe this is more in that direction?!?!?

This was my experience, but it needs to be confirmed by others if they are blocking ebay SMS.

The above being said, I only use Gvoice for disposable accounts I could care less about, I prefer to use prepaid cell phones.

SO STRANGE as i cannot make an account with GV without 0/0 limit! Sendhub, txt+, GV… 0/0 every time.

Tracfone or diff phone service, no problems. 8/8 so far.

Thanks for reporting back guys.

It seems to be more clear now that large swathes of known and abused free phone numbers are having a bigger impact on new accounts.

I feel there is a system in place that puts points towards certain account behaviors that can impact an accounts selling limits at the very least. And it seems eBay may have increased the impact of using used and abused well known phone numbers.

Now some people are having issues and others not so much.. so let's imagine a point system and if your account surpasses a certain threshold, it's zero'd out and reviewed. The better you create your account the better it stands against this system.

It's interesting how things are shaping.

last year, I have this issue for about 10 accounts, but then about 3 months, I login again and see all 10 account up from 0/0 to 5/$500. hope will same last year for 0/0 new accts

I wouldnt be surprised - as aspkin said - the free numbers are heavily abused and eb/pp could have made moves to EASILY ID the numbers and flag them
