| | | pr0wake | 10-26-2014 02:18 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer bank is most certainly a factor
Metabank/prepaid bank users are experiencing this more than major banks
do some research |
Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer I use several Prepaid's but have yet to get this error. |
| blockhead | 10-26-2014 07:33 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer yeah it's tied to metabank, guess that's what's causing the problem |
| slokor | 10-26-2014 07:39 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer Actually that's not necessarily the case.
Again - The bank used is NOT a factor. Don't be fooled.
Plenty of people use prepaids and do NOT have an issue. |
| boughtastealth | 10-26-2014 09:12 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer Having the same issue, except it came when I tried to transfer to another account not w/d.. & of course my phone # "doesn't appear to be registered in my name".. Any way around this without calling them? & if i do have to call, what type of public database questions do they ask? I've had this account since 2001 & moved/changed phone #'s/etc several times since then. I want to make sure I have any info they need ready to get this over with asap. |

Theres various reasons for this happening as you can see. |
| pr0wake | 10-27-2014 12:21 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer Well another guy confirmed that his major-bank accounts were not getting the request and ALL of his prepaid/metabank accounts were.
and, as we saw again above, blockhead had metabank.
stop spreading false information. Having the prepaid options INCREASES the probability for this verification request. Doesn't mean its guaranteed, its just more probable |
| slokor | 10-27-2014 01:23 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer It is you who is spreading false info friend.
People here are telling you that theyre facing the same problem with regular banks.
I am one of them as it happened to me twice with the bank being BOA.
So before you chime in get your facts straight. Plenty of other posts in this very thread back me up and contradict what you say directly. I understand youre trying to one-up me but don't do it at the expense of the other forum members and feeding them false information. |
| Tag123 | 10-27-2014 03:31 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer So far since last week I have had no issues with withdrawals.
Also, FYI, I have a regular bank and was still getting the verification request for some time until last week as stated above. |
| PESMO | 10-28-2014 04:20 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer Chrome and FF change all the time and this could deleting your cookies or changing something I just stick with internet explore and I have never had this problem. I do use a e-commerce software that only runs on Chrome or FF and it varies month to month on what browser I use. I know it may sound weird but when ever I call in to the tech team who host the program they always blame it on a update that Chrome or FF just did. Hope this helps. |
| Optimistic411 | 10-28-2014 06:05 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer This is my first time getting this after reformatting my computer. Windows update really screwed me. |
| Slanger | 10-29-2014 05:51 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer Just had this happen on an account tonight. Going to try the e-mail route first and see where that takes me. |
| dealagreeproceed | 10-29-2014 01:50 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer Just had this happen when I attempted to add bank acct to acct. said they coudnt recognize my computer and had to verify me by phone. 1. tried text method via major carrier cell with correct zip and didn't work. 2. tried landline home phone option and still didn't work. |
| dealagreeproceed | 10-29-2014 01:53 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer If someone offered phone verification options for PP on this forum like the landline PP verification that would be amazing. Huge need for it. I use one site when I need to get landline home phone verification for pp but its hit or miss n recently all miss.
Would be great to have someone in marketplace who offered that unless sum1 already does and I just missed it, if so LET ME KNOW! |
| pr0wake | 10-30-2014 10:07 AM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer my accounts are able to accept calls to verify the request to add a bank
Last night I set up a new personal stealth I had sitting for a week and received the same call/text verification request as well.
I believe the issue with that one is having no cookies, as I had none after letting it sit a week. Start experimenting with having daily logins for week before adding it, two weeks, etc and we may be able to land on the timeframe needed |
| BeAwesome | 10-30-2014 06:28 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer I have been reading through all these threads since same thing happened to me 3 days ago when I tried to withdraw to my bank. I thought it might just be one of those things that goes away, like other stealth issues that I have had with Paypal/Ebay glitches.
Well, patience paid off. I was afraid to keep trying things, or have them call my phone because this tracfone won't get paypal's sms. I did not want to risk a red flag and inadvertently getting my account limited if the call did not go thru either. So I opted to wait it out. Today, I went and tried to w/d again and went through without a problem after 3 days of getting messages to verify my account.
The two accounts that it happened on were 80% verified, limits lifted, only about a month old. Both hooked to BOA accounts. I use a static IP, dedicated virgin proxies, so no IP changes ever, and connect from same computer all the time. Firefox default settings. $300 withdrawal
All the guessing about what this might be... I do not see any rhyme or reason. When something weird like this happens I think it is best to wait a little bit before trying things. It seems that these glitches happen sometimes and it is safest to wait first before potentially making a mess of things. Probably a good rule of thumb.
Similar glitch issue happened to me when I first started shipping on one of my accounts. Paypal would not let me generate a shipping label and sign the shipping agreement. Happened for like the first 3 or 4 sales...so I decided to just generate the labels on USPS site and upload the tracking# until this worked itself out... then wala! the next time I tried to ship through Paypal it let me hook it all up just like my other accounts... There was no rhyme or reason to that either. |

Honestly sooo true. Lots of times patience is best. Trying to jump to conclusions and guess whats going on usually only makes things worse and gives you a headache:clap: |

I need to withdraw to be able to get items shipped, more like pay for items before sending them out but paypal wont let me.
Is there any website one can buy a Real Landline USA number to receive a call from them? all i have tried is not working. |

| sdot10 | 11-05-2014 09:37 PM | Re: Paypal does not recognize my computer This has been an issue for awhile but not to this extent. I used to get it all the time but a quick call to paypal and I would just say oh yeah I added that bank account and they would just say ok and do some crap and theyd tell me to log out and log back in and it would work. Now they want to do a background check. At that point (usually because ive been on hold so long) id be like i actually have to run (insert excuse) and then ask if i could call back and do it so they wouldnt run the check. Now they say no problem and without fail a day later I get a limitation.
its weird. when i have bought vba from the site I can actually transfer to that one everytime. I've checked but never completed the transfer. It seems to be for me adding of the second bank account that triggers it. How is everyone confirming their bank accounts? instand or 2 deposit. That could be an issue. |

For others, please NEVER use an app with paypal or ebay. It is a dangerous risk. |
