Hassle-Free Ripoffs - How do I get returned items' Tracking Number?

Hi -

Is there an interface where I can see the tracking #'s for the items people are returning to me?

It's not in the resolution center, and if it's in the returns page I'm missing it.

The issue I'm having is that people are initiating returns and then not shipping the item back. The timer on the return sends me the automated email, "Has this item been returned yet?" and it hasn't.

5 Days later, the item is refunded and I never have any tracking # that says the buyer even tried to return it.

It would only show up if a user enters it...some people are lazy though

Sooooo if they don't return it, how can I tell ebay that they didn't return it?

They should ask them to supply a tracking number... Sadly you might have to call in to tell them you didn't get the item back and they should see the buyer never uploaded tracking, and I would think they would re open the case for you. I honestly think some people try to scam the system to keep the item and their money.

I agree about your last point - there are definitely people who initiate a return and scam the system

But at the same time , I will never willfully call in for any of my accounts.

It's not my style.

When you get a message that the item has been delivered, you have an option to issue a refund or dispute the return (something like that). It is used if the item returned is not the same or any issues that may arise. You can claim the item was not received.

Here's where my issue comes in. I deal in low-cost items and I don't (ever) have access to my stealth addresses.

My issue with the new automated returns baloney is that I can't see a tracking number to determine weather or not the item was even attempted to be returned.

I sell $5 items, with $2 shipping. I am doubting that my (scammy) buyers are spending the $2, the time, and the effort to return the items they open a return for.

I don't care if I get the item back, I just care about them being able to prove that they attempted to do so.

Is there a way for me to access a return tracking-number without contacting eB support via phone?

I am so worried about Paypal returns come Nov 18. I think buyers on eBay will be getting freebies.

So I just had a buyer go through and buy the same thing on 6 of my accounts, use the 6 items, and then open 6 different returns.

This new policy is garbage.

It looks as though this isn't all that special of a link, it is now included on everyone's Feedback page, at the top right above the Seller Dashboard link.

I wonder if this is the beginning of a new trend of seller leniency? These abusive buyers are really, REALLY becoming a problem.

I have been having insane problems the last few weeks now.
I have a buyer buy the same thing from two accounts say they received it broken and when I asked for proof they sent me the same pictures on both accounts!

And the pictures had a weird sticker on the product that does not belong and when I asked what the sticker was they said when they opened the NEW SEALED BOX the sticker was on the item. Uh huh on both packages you received broken with weird stickers on them!

Lol I cant believe it needless to say they kept emailing me about a refund due to the damage and cant use it but every time I told them that I would prefer to go thru ebay and once the item was sent back I would issue a refund I never heard from them again. SCAMMERS!

Many people are trying to make a living selling for limited profits. On the flip side, buyers who may also be potential sellers are scamming the hell out of these same people trying to put bread on the table.

Life with eBay and Paypal is an amusement park.

omg, i painfully laugh at what the end result.. either ebay will be sooo low end sellers all coming from china. selling 1. items
and/or
the only usa/ca/uk sellers will be brick and mortar stores and cut out the individuals entirely .

hmm i know it wont happen but it will possibly lean more in that direction..

and with this every year season attack on sellers bay does i'm sure the investors will be happy in the end of year sales figures. ( sure they will be up as usual it is xmas after all, any company is on xmas, but they could've been massive if they leave us alone)
