^^^there is still a chance the account can be saved. What exactly are you saying? Let the account go?
It boils down to the way the account got made. But this is not the time to pick that to pieces. ward is in a jam that maybe he can get out of.

Thanks a million for all your replies; the thought you have given to my predicament is greatly appreciated, and in turn I'd like to give some thought to all the replies before I respond properly and before I make any decisions.
Sorry for the delay, I've been unwell for a few days. Will post again in a day or so....

OK, thanks again all for your replies. If I could get back on a few points: Quote: |
Only quickly skimmed the posts but I think that there are hassles because of the way the accounts have been created. If the paypal was done first & fully verified B4 being added to the ebay account, there would not have been problems.
| Yes, perhaps I did set up the account the wrong way around. Basically I set eBay and PP up at the same time. I didn’t think that would be an issue as I’ve done it this way around before, but I guess these things are always evolving. Quote: |
Thrown me a bit though, what do you mean about the two deposits, so you are verified but not really?
| I’m not sure I explained this well enough – this is crucial. I mean that when I tried to submit my Direct Debit form on the PP site (ie clicking “confirm account” to get PP to put in the two deposits), the form already had a number of details pre-completed, such as the account number, sort code – and “my” name! After seeing that, I did not proceed with the confirmation and no deposits have been made. Quote: |
ok is this a solution? to call/email and say, sorry I put my business name on but now I want to change it to my personal name, dont mention d debit form issue, they will say send us proof of name to a different dept and he sends something in with actual name on, they change name on account and then continues with bank stuff
| This sounds as though it could have potential. I guess the only problem could be if they insist that whatever has my actual name on also has to have my address on! The address is a nearby dentist’s surgery!! A Photoshop-enhanced utility bull perhaps....? Quote: |
Im not sure calling and asking them if he can establish a pp account will work, p still hasnt done his penny deposits, all pp will say is go ahead and press button and do them, if he questions the name on dd form they will say, why whats your problem with that, its your name isnt it?
| This is my worry; unless I come up with an explanation as to why I have a problem with the name on the DD form, I’m not sure what reason I can give for not going down the “normal” route – ie just clicking the Confirm Account button?

| AH. So this is the account that you had troubles with because of the paypal glitch? Likely 'your' info is there in the paypal sysem: try the confirmation steps. THEN if that does not work, you already have 'the record' of 'your name' to speak to them....follow what I mean. You have been thrown off by the name being there as a result of the paypal problem> Quote:

| sort number & account number should work OK so pressing confirm as I said above could fix the problems

I agree, fingers crossed it goes thru and nobody notices..I mean loads go thru each day,
the pre-filled bit may or may not actually get sent on direct debit it may just be part of the glitch..
So, if it gets rejected, plan B, will probably mean docs and some kind of story..worst that will happen is - rip it up and start again..

Thanks both. Will try it, but I think I'll leave it until I've almost reached the withdrawal limits and make sure there is nothing in the PP account when I do try to confirm, just in case they try to freeze the account and anything in it if and when they notice the name discrepancy.
Meanwhile, I think another backup stealth is in order.
Will keep you posted.
Cheers again!

you could keep it as a slow earning account and never have to verify location, ive got one like that, as far as I know the limit resets to £1700 at year end.

I'm pretty sure it happened to me while waiing for confirmating address letter.

I had a non-verified account a few years ago and I got the message you mentioned, so I verified it.
On this other account, this time I have not got that message for some reason, I think it is a super slow safe account and Ive been left alone, so great as an extra paypal..However I have been limited on it a while back and had to send docs etc so maybe they didnt see need to do location call/letter..
