Default Chinese Holiday New Year Times

I have an extraordinary good relationship with my Chinese supplier over 12 years. She has lent me 1000s of $ dollars of stock to build my business up, sent free food parcels of Chinese food, but however, sometimes sends things out I didn't order and probably lies about her profit margin.

She has been stating in China, DHL will slow down after January 25th, and DHL will stop working throughout February in China. Also the factories will not be able to release any stock out untill Mar 1st. This seems a bit extreme. I thought Chinese New Year was for 2 weeks?

Yep that seems about right

The bit I find strange in the original OPs message is

Chinese New Year lasts a very long time (As you stated above in the thread) because, from what I have been told, a lot of factory workers go back to their respective towns and families which can be far and need more family time off (one of the reasons out of a few for sure)

Pretty much starting in the next couple days China is closed until about February 20th and it takes a week or two to catch up.

Your supplier seems about right. Better to exceed your expectations than to disappoint.

OP, I was told 1/31 to 2/19.

It depends on what kind of forwarders/consolidators your supplier is using over their in China. Also I guess it depends on your relationship with your supplier since I assume they're more willing to help larger customers when they start returning to work.
