If your having so many problems with buying online because your expectations are to the moon, then buy from a brick and mortar high street shop where you will spend 2-3 as much.

Why not open stealth purchase accounts?

Thanks for your feedback. Hopefully a stealth purchase account won't be necessary as this would be a pain. Going forward I will try to resolve all issues through ebay messages so that no cases are opened.

I've only just started buying phones at the moment it's about maybe 1 in 15 that has an issue so not too bad (not every single purchase like some of the lunatics on here assume lol)

As I get more practise I will hopefully notice warning signs of seller bull**** and keep the number of cases opened low.

At least when I buy from business sellers I have the right to a 14 day return so I'm only loosing out on return postage costs although business sellers tend to me more reliable anyway.

Thanks for your suggestion but no I'm not and no I don't need to do that.

Re: Banned as a Buyer? Will too many return requests as a buyer get you in trouble?

The issue isn't so much about opening cases. The issue is will these sellers report you to ebay after issueing that refund for being a nuisance buyer i.e. returning items with missing parts or not in it's original condition etc. Annoyed, angry sellers will most definitely do it.

All those reports add up until trust & safety one day review your account and decide to ban you. Or it may even trigger a bot to ban you.

When one is bottom fishing on flea bay,may I suggest you ask questions before you pull your trigger, most sellers are jack of all trade, they could miss some minor flaws or their standard is lower than yours.

Correction I don't resell the items I buy on ebay. I think we are in the "make an assumption" section of the forum.

Of course I ask questions before buying if anything is unclear I never said I didn't

You can be absolutely sure they do not have the same script if one of their buyers makes a similar observation.

I do have the same script actually. In fact my buyers are sent the phone before they pay and if they don't like it can they return it to me without any payment required.

Some people on here are negative Nancy's, just ignore them if they have nothing positive to add.

Like i said, if you're doing what you said, then I hear you but keep the returns low as possible

Thanks prodigyace that's very wise advise. Yes unfortunately forums like this always have a percentage of users that are trolls or bitter if they hear about people making money or having success.

It's sad that they have been treated so badly by a small number of buyers that they hate all of them and tie them with the same brush.

I will try to ignore them

Glad you like it mate lol. I think I've put a drop of blood into a barrel of piranhas.

It's much better to see the funny side rather than get angry.

Exactly. Or if auction says opened never used and it was used. Or if auction says Excellent condition and it's cracked but photos and description don't mention this etc etc etc.

I estimate I have currently have a problem with roughly about 1 in 12 purchases so most are ok but there are some bad apples. Like I said before the more I do it the more I will hopefully be able to guess which sellers are bull****ting / incompetent.

One example is a phone that appeared on first sight to be in great condition but in fact had a crack hidden by it's case. Either the seller genuinely didn't know it was cracked or was trying to hide it but either way that's lying / negligence not to check it before listing.

Re: Banned as a Buyer? Will too many return requests as a buyer get you in trouble?

Its true you have had some negative comments but you have asked for few .in your first post you say the phones you buy are OFTEN not as described and as a result you have to open a LOT of return cases, now your saying roughly 1 in 12 so most are ok.

You must have a good outlet to buy that many phones and not resell them on ebay so fair play :).

Re: Banned as a Buyer? Will too many return requests as a buyer get you in trouble?

I dont think OP said he open return cases with Ebay,he just emailed sellers and negotiate a lower price.
Most Ebay sellers are pushovers, they will offer a partial refund ,if not ,OP could open a case of INAD and make seller takes it back and pay return shipping.

Probably Gumtree or similar. Apparently we’re jealous because he is making money. He’d be drying his eyes if he saw many of our turnover figures.
