Default Lying Buyer

I've recently sold a bridal dress and it's been shipped no problems.
Buyer then emails me to say she's worn the dress but didn't like it and won't be wearing it again. Can she return it? I said no and thought that'd be the end to it. She's new to ebay so thought she was just a bit of a fool.

A day later she's opened a claim against me saying that she hasn't recieved the dress.

eBay ask me to provide a tracking number which I don't have as it was sent by RM Parcel Post do to it's size.

What do I do now as I've phoned eBay and their Indian call centre have basically said tough no tracking then it'll be refunded in her favour.

My paypal account with all the money I'd been saving has been frozen too.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Seem to me that the ONLY Proof you have that she got the dress is in that E-Mail, Use it send a copy to Ebay/Paypal and hope for the best.

Slapped is correct. Fax a copy to ebay with your 'defence'. Hope the email was thro' ebay's system? Never think a buyer is 'new'. Always think the least of them until they prove other wise. If you are going to sell again, then always have -->tracking<-- for an item. Supplying tracking solves problems if you get my drift

Who do I fax it to as I've just come off the phone to them and they have said they don't care about her saying she's got it, as she's saying she hasn't, they just want the tracking number.

I sell regularly on eBay but only very low value items (balloons) people don't want to pay more in postage than the item! Stupidly I didn't think it to be an issue with this as I emailed her to say I was sending it and she emailed to say she'd got it etc.

It wasn't through the eBay system but through our email, will that count?

honestly, an email, wont count, unless there is tracking. The system works on tracking as ultimate proof. This story is all too common. Negs for buyers, would weed out repeat offenders and act as a detterent.

Oh how I miss those days...

It doesn't help OP now, but never ship anything you cant lose without using tracking. Even though its rare to get stung by a scam like this, no tracking actually attracts this kind of thing. Odds are had there been proof of delivery we wouldn't be having this conversation at all.

Well, you are likely to lose. So get the dress back at least before it turns into a war and you lose both

email the twit and ask her to send the dress back with tracking if you can

And if she does return it at least you have the dress back to sell. And you could also show the return to paypal. Maybe get her in trouble for trying to scam you as well... But get it back at least so its not a full on wash

An email may not work with eBay, but I'd guess it could be used as evidence in the UK small claims court?
